I ordered an impossible burger with a salad for pickup. This was my fourth time ordering within a week or so. I added extra toppings, sautéed mushrooms, onions, and jalapeños. I was so hungry that I started eating the meal as soon as I got in the Car. I ate a little more than half my burger and closed that container to eat the salad. Upon finishing the salad I went back to the burger at a light. By this time I was heading towards the highway around the corner. As I put the top bun back on the burger because it kind of fell off, I saw some of the sautéed items as well on the side and went to make sure they were on top of the burger. Upon making sure all of the toppings were on, I saw something that looked like a clear like crusted edging like as if you fried an egg and the grease crust was hanging off edge. I look little closer thinking it was possibly from the impossible burger being fried since the color blended and it look weird. I went to grab the clear crust off and saw legs and noticed a big insect that appeared to be a dragonfly. I instantly threw it back in the container and proceeded to go into a parking lot near as I gather my thoughts because I was utterly disgusted. I turned around and went back to the restaurant to take the burger back. I waited for the customers waiting for food to get their food and the young girl immediately saw my expression and said, you look like you need to speak to someone above me. I replied, yes. I just opened the container, showed her and she jumped and said yes, Ill be right back. Another young lady that actually handed me the order when I picked it up came up to see what happened and empathize with me. They went to get the manager, Dominic and I told him what happened and showed him. His response was, I’ve never seen one of them in here before. He was very nonchalant and just said, I guess I can can refund you. He went to call his general manager for approval and the general manager said he’d do it from home. It just happened within a couple hours so I’m not sure if I ate any bugs prior to seeing that one. More than half the burger was gone. However if the management is not able to take accountability, instead he says he’s never saw that inside of the restaurant , implying that maybe I put it in there, the store should be inspected because I’ve been there plenty of times, and I hadn’t saw it either. Also, good customer service goes a long way when someone almost eats a big insect in your establishment that appeared to be cooked with their food. The dragon fly literally was the same color as my impossible burger. This location was on Zona Rosa, Kansas City Missouri. The experience was horrible, however, the manager. Dominic’s reaction/ response to the situation was even worse.

Visited on Valentines Day. The Asian Glazed Shrimp was delicious and the Grilled Salmon and Tuscan Chicken dish was just right. Valencia was very friendly and attentive. Other staff were super nice. I would definitely visit Granite City Brewery again.

The food was tasty but the star was our waiter, Brent. Our meal was $60 for three ladies celebrating our December birthdays but we tipped him $90 if that tells you anything. He really went out of his way to help us celebrate. This included a flight of Shirley Temple, one giant piece of chocolate cake shared for the three of us with three separate bowls of ice cream each with a candle!!

We’ve always had good servers at Granite City, but Valencia truly takes the cake! From the moment we sat down, she was fast, attentive, and incredibly personable. She anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask and made fantastic recommendations that did not disappoint.

I came here with three of my kids to eat before we left town. Miguel was our water and he was great and caring when I told him our daughter has an onion allergy. He filled our drinks without waiting. I had literally the best steak I’ve had in years, almost brought a tear to my eye I was so grateful. (Coming from a mostly carnivore diet, I’ve been searching for a good steak). 10/10 would highly recommend!
