Very nice family owned business. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Take out only at this time. Have recommended this place to several friends.

Back in Texas and immediately on the hunt for some proper BBQ—so I picked this spot based on the reviews. First impression: the location is… a little awkward, but hey, plenty of parking, so no stress there. Walked in around noon on a Saturday and the place was empty, which already felt a bit ominous.

The inside is huge, but it’s missing that warm, smoky “BBQ joint” vibe you expect. The menu is pretty limited, and I’ll admit I did a double take when my brisket, ribs, and sausage showed up on a bed of white rice. That was a first for me anywhere in the U.S.

The sausage was actually solid—cooked well and full of flavor. The brisket, unfortunately, was dry and forgettable. The ribs were tender, but the smoke flavor was so intense it completely took over, even with both sauces trying their best to help.

Bright spots: the pinto beans were delicious, and I appreciated the classic bread, onion, and pickle lineup. All that said, it’s probably not a place I’ll revisit while I’m in town. It just wasn’t the Texas BBQ I grew up with—or the one I was dreaming about the moment I crossed back into the state.

The food here was amazing. Exceeded my expectations on all levels. I had a combo plate with brisket and ribs and added the piece of chicken for three dollars. The three sides that were available were potato salad, beans and white rice. The rice was surprisingly good. The brisket was perfect. The ribs were delicious and the chicken was as juicy. I picked up empanadas for dessert after being impressed with the food and figured the homemade dessert had to be good. That was a correct assumption.

I enjoyed poppin in and grabbing up some BBQ… lots of options and prices were very fair for the amount I got. Will be going back when down in PAT

Honestly, one of the best BBQ spots I’ve ever tried when I came to Texas!
The place is cozy, filled with that irresistible smoky aroma that makes your mouth water. The meat here is fresh, perfectly marinated, and grilled to perfection, especially the beef ribs and pork belly, which are tender and full of flavor.
Big shoutout to the staff: super friendly, attentive and professional.
I also loved their special dipping BBQ sauce: a perfect match for the BBQ.
The price is very reasonable for the quality you get. If you’re a BBQ lover, this is definitely a place you should visit at least once, you’ll leave full and happy!

This place has the most delicious BBQ sandwich I’ve ever had. The people there were awesome. My daughter loved it for sure. The meat was so soft and falling off the bone. Definitely coming back!!

Came in on a quick lunch break running an errand from Houston and we loved it. Great price for the amount of food. We ordered a plate and a brisket sandwish, everything was good and clean

Wasted money, ribs dry unseasoned and not smoked, chicken looked backed and it was mushy, potato salad got on my beard when I spilt it out, the beans were salty and no flavor. The white rice was the only thing edible and the coke was delicious.

Today was my first trip to the restaurant. I ordered brisket to take home and a sausage sandwich for my lunch. Slightly smokey flavor a little bit of “zip” in the sausage. Sandwich was on a tasty roll not just slapped onto a hamburger bun. Reasonable prices and good food, give them a try.

I was hungry and was passing by the old Nick’s Grocery and saw Grangel BBQ, so went in and ordered a BBQ sandwich. The service was great, the food was well prepared and their prices really good. The sandwich with pickles and their BBQ sauce was sweet and slightly warm and made the sandwich delicious.
Very good job Grangel and will be back since I am only down the block.

Portions are very big for $13+ tax (I get the combo with Ribs). The ribs have a mild to moderate smokey flavor to them and go well with the sauce. You get the sauce separately in a small cup so you can choose how much to put on. For me, the sauce was enough, but you may need to ask for a second one. The potato salad was creamy but not too creamy, and the beans and rice were fine. Nothing was undercooked or overcooked and the meat came out warm/hot. Service was very quick and pleasant.
