The pineapple bun looked good with a nice golden crust, but the baking was not done properly. Right under the crunchy top, the dough was still raw and sticky, almost like chewing on uncooked flour paste. A proper pineapple bun should be fully baked inside — soft and fluffy, not like this!

I found out about this place from a coworker of mine who generously brought in a box of assorted buns to the office. I quickly became a fan and started going there regularly. They’re sticky rice pork buns are great and the regular pork buns as well. I haven’t tried everything there but so far Ive enjoyed what I have had. During the summertime they sell an iced tea with hibiscus and berries that’s really good. They have bun options as well that you can take home and steam yourself. It’s a very small place with some seating but I always take mine to-go. The employees are extremely friendly and the establishment is always clean and organized. I come here often and I know some of my co-workers do as well. Its very affordable. I’ve even seen this place featured from influencers on Instagram and it’s well worth a visit.

While eating one of your chicken buns, I discovered a piece of plastic inside. This is absolutely unacceptable and poses a serious choking hazard.
I purchase your products expecting safe, quality food, not dangerous foreign objects that could cause injury. This level of negligence is alarming and makes me question your food safety and quality control standards.
Will be throwing everything out!

Went to the new bakery by me on Kissena Blvd and Horace Harding near the Dunkin Donuts and right in front of the Q25/34 bus stop where Regina Pizzeria used to be, Grandpa Chen Char Sui Bao. It’s the same name bakery as the one in Little Neck on Northern Blvd . They open at 7 am I think they close at 6 pm.
The buy one Char Sui Bao sale has been extended to Sunday 1/12/25. It only applies the the regular , pineapple topped char sui bun and I think it includes the regular pineapple bun too with nothing inside . They also sell steamed big buns, sausage buns, etc. plus, many bakery cookies , pineapple cakes etc .
The bun itself is tasty, comes out warm . There is a decent amount of filling . The taste of the char sui inside the bun is not too sweet but a bit lacking in that authentic “char sui” flavor for me since I am used to that OG flavor growing up. The prices seem reasonable $2.95 for the pineapple char sui bao, $2.50 for the regular char sui bun and $1.95 for the hom su gok, fried item with meat inside. Many streamed buns in the refrigerated section for you to take home to microwave or steam $12 for a pack of four big buns, they have the Chinese sausage bun and others too. They have cookies and other bakery items like pineapple buns, walnut cookies etc. The steam buns is missing something for me too. But I can definitely say that the topping on the pineapple char sui bun is very crispy and light and maybe the best pineapple topping I have had In Queens. I think Grandpa Chen’s bread is very tasty for the baked and steam buns and they do give a good amount of filling , but the fillings are lacking something in taste for me . I am still grateful that there is a business like this near me and hope they do well .

Omg. When I tell you that you need to try this place out you need to. The buns are fresh out of the oven and it’s so good. The price is fair and not expensive at all compare to other places. The filling of the char siu in the buns are at a very good amount. I’m definitely coming back

Walked in and the place look like a Chinese version bakery with some refrigerated bao on the right and freshly baked bao in the front counter!! Order 1 char Siu Bao and pineapple char siu bao and general toa’s and both off the hook!! Accept the general Tao that was all full of fried dough and a bit of chicken stick to the char siu bao!! Do not buy the Jon is just full fat and no taste!!! Lake Pavilion restaurant 1000 times better!!!

The pinnacle buns and chasiu is close if not better than meh lai wah. More crunchier crust. Amazing. Their mantou is so soft and fragrant with a touch of sweetness. AMAZING. The milk tea is super flavorful and not too sweet (requested less sugar and actually listened) egg tarts were on par with the more fancy places with the taipan price tag. Everything is super fresh!! Pricing is super good on everything, a must try. Will be frequenting this spot.
