I had only been once before this visit and I had a normal experience nothing that stood out. I ordered the machaca with egg plate and this is what I was served which looked and tasted more like birria. We also ordered the chapurrado and it was whiter than me and had the consistency of atole instead. I ate my food because there was nothing wrong with it cooked wise. You can just clearly tell it’s their birria meat. I probably won’t be going back here.

I had a previous good experience a few weeks back so for Memorial weekend I ordered food for the whole family. Well, it was the worse experience ever. Tamales were hard and extremely greasy. This was a bad a batch but they still decided that it was a good idea to sell it to people. Horrible decision. Bad business. You don’t sell inedible food to your customers. Won’t be coming back here. Extremely disappointed.

Ive been coming to grandmas for a while now, but after today im not so sure. I ordered 2 tacos and menudo. First of all we found a SHRIMP carcass in a CABEZA taco, how does that even happen? Then as we’re eating the menudo there’s literally hairs in it :(. Appetite gone. I’m super disappointed because I really enjoy this place.

When upon arrival you see the Tías and Abuelas outside making fresh tortillas you know it’s gonna be good. Menudo was perfect with the salsa de aceite. Highly recommend

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my husband for lunch.
Parking lot was packed and so was the resturaunt, we had to park on the streets , no biggie.
I take crowdedness as a good sign and it was a very good sign indeed….. As you can see from my 5 star rating!

Its a tent type restaurant , spacious inside but because they where so packed it felt cramped.
I ordered my “go to” which is two chicken tacos and my husband ordered the super buritto.
Once we ordered and paid they give you your receipt with an order number and serve the food to you at your table. Nice touch.
Everyone was nice and friendly.
Grandma was there making tortillas.
lunch and a show!
The aroma of the freshly made tortillas was amazing !
Our food came out about 10 mins after we ordered.
Quick service.
Now for the 5 stars!
The food alone was worth 5 stars!
My husbands asada super burrito was super hefty, filled with tender, juicy and flavorful meat, the rice was so fluffy and fresh , guacamole , sour cream, cheese was all on point.
The two tacos where also great! Chicken was flavorful, tender and fresh, they had an amazing flavor to them and honestly I didnt even need any salsa that’s how amazing the flavors are…
And the Fresh tortillas really make a huge difference!

The only “down” side was the fact that they had no salsa at the salsa bar, they had diced onions and cilantro and some sliced lemon wedges.
They bring you there green salsa when they bring you your food.
And,
At each table they had this super thick and super spicy sauce , not covered , just exposed and used by anyone and everyone who sits at that table.
Way to thick and spicy for my taste.
And the green salsa they bring to you was a 3 outta 5 stars for me, much to thin and watery. But decent in flavor.
The Jamaica (drink) was a 3.5 outta 5 , I’ve had better.
Overall the food alone was worth it, and thats the main part.
There clean too because we saw them wiping tables immediately after someone leaves. And grandma washing her hands before making the tortillas.
Our bill came out to 16$ roughly. So they are very affordable.

We loved it and will be back soon!

Good food. Terrible service. Waited an hour for a bowl of menudo even after going up to the counter and following up multiple times.

Service is terrible.

This place stayed open for me even though they were closing. They have outdoor dining with misters to keep you cool. Food is traditional Mexican and priced about right.

I’ve only been here twice. I’ve tasted the tamales, but nothing special. On the other hand, the tacos dorados de birria hands down and I dont eat to much red meat so it says alot. My father in law talks highly of the birria, and the fresh HANDMADE corn tortillas
