Edit: the dish varies widely based in which chef is in. Had to send back steak the second time.

New York strip is 12/10 good!! Great service as well.

We have eaten here many times before, but I believe this was our best experience. Our waitress was more than amazing. She was well organized and didn’t miss a beat, from refills to having our food out exactly when we wanted it. We appreciate the food as well, being cooked to order, fresh, and satisfying. That made leaving town easier. We recommend Grandma’s to everybody who travels through Virginia, Minnesota. Thank you for such a well-rounded experience.

Ordered fish and chips and both were excessively over fried and supper oily.

I can’t tell you anything but better things about Grandma’s and it doesn’t matter where, what an amazing place! Best people, best food, environment always nice, always.
I love Grandmas From every place I go. Great thing would be of they stayed open till longer, but I could enjoy it just fine, no problems at all!!!

Stopped in for lunch as we went through Virgina and had the stuffed mushrooms. They were one of the most delicious and filling stuffed mushroom I have had! Stop in and try them out.

They have added $10 to all their prices at a minimum.
Unfortunately the quality of the food has not increased with the prices. My cranberry Turkey club sandwich was so greasy I couldn’t eat it.
The waitress was lovely and handled that very well, so not her fault. But it’s unlikely we will return after being fairly frequent customers since they opened. Skip it, go to Boomtown or Sawmill instead.

Waitress was friendly, but the cooks, a different story. I have not had any good experience lately with some of the restaurants around town and now Grandmas falls in this area now. We ordered the Sunday special and the first thing I noticed is that the cocktail sauce was still frozen. The steak tasted fine but it was not medium rare but well done. The cooks need more training and need to be careful. That goes for all restaurants.

I had the Wild Rice Burger and my fiancée had the IPA crusted Cod. Both very yummy! I would order this again The burger came with shredded raw carrots which created a wonderful cruchy flavor.

I’ve been going here since I can remember. The atmosphere is very comfortable, and the staff quite friendly. The chicken tetrazinni, kabobs, and burgers are amazing. And – I can’t stress this enough- the blue cheese dressing is the finest made anywhere in the world. Let me tell you about it.
It would be made illegal if the state legislature knew how much enjoyment people could gain from it. I would eat a bowl of it with a few pieces of lettuce as a garnish as my last meal. I would accept jars of it instead of cash as a payment. I do not think it should even be called “blue cheese dressing,” but it is difficult to capture the essence of its shining, culinary holiness with mere mortal languages. It is rumored that the ingredients are shipped from Heaven’s kitchen, but this is false, as not even Heaven can produce such a perfect thing. No one knows where it comes from, but I would hesitate to ask, in case the question itself would interrupt the supply of it somehow.
The walleye is good, too.

Found this place by a recommendation. It was worth it. Good food, good service, good atmosphere and they sell chocolates.

Tried the turkey on cranberry and wild rice bread. It was worth the drive.
