The place is pretty cozy and it’s open early. The waitress was nice and efficient. There is a TV screen with the specials on it. We did not see it until after we ordered, but that is on us. The omelettes are a little pricey, but they were filled with lots of meat and cheese. The country potatoes were delightful-not fried and not overly greasy and well cooked and flavored. The biscuits were awesome. We ended up spending over 50 bucks for two dishes and a cup of coffee. I guess that’s how it goes these days.

If you come to Monterey you definitely need to have breakfast here! The food was delicious! Excellent customer service. The waitress remembered my husband’s order from the day before! Food was so good we came back the next day!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Grandma’s Kitchen recently, and let me just say—it was an experience like no other. We were fortunate enough to have Grandma herself serve us, and her warmth and friendliness made our visit so special. The food? Simply incredible! Everything was made with the freshest, high-quality ingredients, and it came out fast.

One of the things I loved most was their all-day breakfast—definitely a huge plus in my book! The menu is massive, offering a wide variety of options for all tastes. A standout for me was their homemade ground beef, which was flavorful and juicy, whether in breakfast dishes or in their must-try burgers. I didn’t get a chance to try the patty melt, but based on everything else, I bet it’s fantastic too. They even have a great selection of alcohol if you’re in the mood for a drink.

The love and care that the owners put into both the food and the service are evident in every bite. It’s hands down one of the best diners I’ve ever been to, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of their delicious menu. If you’re looking for a place that makes you feel at home while serving top-notch food, you won’t be disappointed at Grandma’s Kitchen!

The atmosphere at Grandma’s Kitchen is cozy and warm, making you feel right at home. Our server was exceptionally nice and friendly. We sat outside in the patio area with our dog, which we really enjoyed. The prices are reasonable, similar to what you’d find at Denny’s, with breakfast items starting around $17+. The portions were generous, which we appreciated. There’s plenty of parking available behind the restaurant. We ended up paying $44 for two plates. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely return.

HAD SOME STEAK AND EGGS ALONG WITH SOME PANCAKES. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE STEAK THAT WAS A BIT TOO CHEWY AND NOT TO MY TASTE IN STEAKS. NICE ENVIRONMENT AND GREAT SERVICE.

Nothing fussy, just real food for real people. No Paleo adjacent avocado quinoa salads.
Cozy, pleasant. Kind of on the small side, which is good for me. Quiet, too.
The waitress was really nice, food came out quickly, and it was hot.
Only issue is, the fried potatoes aren’t deep fried. So, know that if you want crispy potatoes, get the hash browns.

This a a little hole in the wall. The ones that have the best food and best service. Would recommend 10/10. There Eggs Benedict is my favorite. Out of all the places I’ve had Eggs Benedict this has been my #1.

Very friendly service. I liked the owl theme which gave the place some extra charm. They were playing college football on ABC which makes me hope they can play some NFL games too. I liked their home style potatoes a lot. It came with onions and green bell peppers. The chicken fried steak had a good crisp and seasoning but the steak portion itself was too salty for me. The eggs were done as ordered and biscuits came out warm. I’d come back to try some other dishes when I’m in the area

Small family owned restaurant with very simple breakfast items. The place is clean and the staff was very polite. Walk in and find your own spot.

I ordered the eggs and bacon breakfast with an English muffin. The hash browns were okay. They gave me 5 pieces of bacon though. Five!

My wife ordered Grandpa’s omelette with country potatoes. Spinach, ground beef, and mushrooms. She liked it.

Overall the place is good. No major problems or issues to speak of. Good place to try, but honestly nothing that says I have to come back. I appreciate the hospitality very much! Thank you!

The food was decent. Our order was taken in an okay manner. The service became horrendous in regard to my two year old. She was piling up sugar packets and building a little fort. She was being quiet and enjoying herself. We don’t let her rip up the sugars and planned on reorganizing them on the caddy. As the food came the waitress snatched the sugar caddy away and scolded us. My toddler cried profusely. She was startled and emotional which is normal for a toddler. I had to go outside to console her while my food got cold. I offered to pay for the darn sugar packets if it meant having a peaceful breakfast and got a dirty look. To the very least ask the parent to get the sugar packets away from the child and not just snatch it away from the table.

If you hate children and families, please advertise that. I owned a breakfast cafe. We had many families and children and believe me we dealt with all kinds of situations and messes and I would never in a million years treat a child and family this way. I immensely regret giving this restaurant a try and want to thank you for putting a damper on our morning. Exactly what a parent needs.
