Grandma’s Greek Taste is a great spot in the heart of Alamo Heights. Plenty of parking in a really solid shopping center, which already earns bonus points.

I ordered the lamb and beef entrée and was genuinely impressed — a lot of food for a really, really reasonable price. It came with a fresh, delicious salad, warm pita, and rice. The rice wasn’t my favorite, but that’s purely personal preference and didn’t take away from the meal at all.

The space itself is super cute and well built out — very Mediterranean vibes, plenty of seating, and an overall welcoming feel. Easy parking, great portions, fair prices, and quality food.

I would absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back. ✨

Open three months, this new addition to the Alamo Heights dining scene is most definitely welcome!
The quaint space is inviting, warm and immaculately clean.
This being our first visit, we had questions. The gentleman at the counter was helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic as he walked us through the myriad of choices.
Grandma’s offers classic Greek fare. The food is fresh, flavorful and clearly prepared with pride.
We started with the dolmades… perfection. Deliciously seasoned, and the grape leaves had been soaked perfectly.
Our entrees, beef salad and chicken pita were fantastic. Both the beef and chicken were seasoned and cooked flawlessly.
I highly recommend this neighborhood gem… cheers!

This is hands down one of the best Greek restaurants in San Antonio. We ordered chicken kabobs, Greek fries, dolmas, and falafel. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. The home made kitchen table taste really comes through. The kabobs were spiced grilled to perfection and juicy. The dolmas were tender and tasty. The falafel has to be one of the best I’ve had being crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with the perfect blend of spices. If you want the freshness and tastiness of a home cooked meal – this is the place to visit. I definitely will be coming back.

Omg. This is such a gem. Beyond amazing. The chicken souvlaki melts in your mouth, the beef and lamb gyro plate is to die for. Enough to feed 2 people easily with one plate. The eggplant with feta was so good. My son who is beyond picky loved everything. If you have not tried it, you have to make the drive.

Wife and I ate there two nights ago. It was Sunday evening and the place was not very busy. But the food was DELICIOUS. I had the beef and lamb gyro plate and my wife had a beef pita (wrap). Both were excellent. The meat on my gyro plate was tender and very tasty. WE did not have dessert but the baklava looked good.

Recently opened small restaurant that shows it is worth seeking and supporting local businesses. You have the choice of Greek cuisine staples like Pitas, Dolmas, Gyros, in addition to traditional Greek plates. The combo plates come with satisfying proportions and have authentic tastes to Greece thanks to its ingredients and spices. If you’re visiting San Antonio, you might be staying near downtown, but I say it is worth driving to this place northeast of the Riverwalk to try tasty Greek cuisine.

Bizarre is all I can say. The gyro was filled with French fries and after taking them out, I realized why… they literally only put TWO small slices of meat and then used fries as a filler. I’ve never seen this anywhere else. Completely overpriced for what they are serving.

I also got a small salad and side of the feta fries. The fries were good (of course I wouldn’t have ordered a side of fries if I realized they were stuffing fries into the gyro), and the salad was okay, but definitely not worth $8.99.

As others have mentioned, the entire interior of the restaurant is plastered with AI generated art of an imaginary grandma and it just feels completely fake and creepy. Seating was a bit awkward too, and looked uncomfortable, but I only stopped in for takeout. I live right around the corner and was excited to have a new option for Greek food, but this was my first & last visit. The gyro was just ridiculous.

The meat in the gyro had an interesting flavor profile, almost like there was some pomegranate molasses in there, subtly sweet. I really liked the tzatziki sauce, it was fresh and had a solid garlic twang to it.

This family owned authentic Greek restaurant is a NEW addition to cuisine in Alamo Heights. And it’s the real deal and super affordable.

We shared chicken soulvaki and beef/lamb gyros for dinner on a Thursday evening. Everything was excellent. The Greek sauces are worth coming back for! Pita were fresh straight out of the oven. We brought our own bottle of wine since they didn’t have their license (yet). About $15 a person.

Ate from here 3 times now, once as a dine in, once as a take out, and once delivered.

The first time I came in I got take out and got the Beef Souvlaki; it traveled well during my 25 minute drive home and it was still hot and delicious. It was a bit pricey at the time, but I feel like I got what I paid for as it was a lot of beef and was seasoned well.

When I dined in with some co-workers I had the Bifteki (which I’m not sure is on the menu anymore as this was a few months ago and I noticed while ordering delivery today it was missing, or if it’s just an in-store thing). It was also seasoned really well and became an instant favorite for me. The guy that waited on us and delivered our food was also very nice and constantly asked if we needed anything.

Today I ordered delivery for lunch and got the Beef Souvlaki again as the Bifteki was missing from the delivery menu, and when it came I was surprised to only see a single stick of beef. Didn’t know if that was a mistake, if that was a cheaper lunch special, or if that’s just how it is now but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until I eat in the restaurant again. But if that’s the normal portion size now then I am not a big fan of the change because the meat is still very delicious and the rice was great too.

I will add though as the location is on the smaller end, I wouldn’t try coming in with a group bigger than four.
