The only negative thing I have to say is the pot pie I had left a little to be desired. The pie crust was delicious, but the filling wasn’t as creamy as I’d like and the chicken was unseasoned white meat that was rather stringy and reminded me of some less than pleasant wild game meat I’ve had. Often coming from rodents like squirrels and gophers. I’m not a white meat guy, I tend to avoid it at all costs but I’m aware that if I order anything chicken based at a diner I’m goofing to be served white meat, so I was expecting chicken breasts. I wasn’t expecting such a bland taste and stringy texture though.
I then asked if she had tea she said ya with an annoying face and it felt like she threw the basket of tea bags in front of me to see what kind of tea they had. I just quickly ordered because I could tell she was not having it with me…
My sister and my mother ordered and they had a hard time too. They said they asked for the free pie for Mother’s Day and said she seems annoyed with that as well and never offered.
Overall we wish we knew how the whole process worked before coming there. Salad was amazing but my mom and sister’s sandwiches were disgusting. My niece also ordered a grilled cheese but didn’t know there was bacon and tomatoes on it so she didn’t eat. Wish we had a more welcome experience. The pie was delicious but we won’t be coming again.
even though the free pie does not require a food purchase, we felt that we should at least purchase something, so my husband bought a specialty sandwich that clearly states it’s 11.99 and includes a side.(see picture). Bill was 14.61 ($13.78 plus tax). When I asked the gal she seemed very confused and not willing to talk about it or help explain. At first she made it sound like the extra cost was maybe for the chips, and when I said that the 11.99 is supposed to include that, she just said “I don’t set the prices”, and was happy to leave it at that.
