I stopped by Grand Père Bakery in Mountlake Terrace for a quick late breakfast at 1045 and had a really enjoyable experience. I ordered an almond croissant, and it was the standout of my visit. It had excellent flavor, plenty of almonds, and that satisfying richness you hope for in a good almond pastry.

I also tried a regular croissant. It was flavorful and well‑made, but naturally more plain compared to the almond one. It didn’t have the same depth of richness, though that’s expected for a classic croissant.

To go with everything, I ordered a large latte, and it was absolutely delicious. Smooth, flavorful, and a perfect match for both croissants. The latte really tied the whole visit together.

Overall, a great stop for quality pastries and a fantastic latte. I’d definitely return to try more of their baked goods.

We ordered a castella, almond croissant, strawberry cream puff, hot chocolate and a decaf mocha.
The almond croissant is sweet from inside, not what we were expecting. Hot chocolate was too sweet for our taste, and so was the strawberry cream puff – way too creamy and sweet. Mocha and castella was good. Both drinks got swapped than what was written on our cups, an honest mistake. But good vibes.

A local gem for authentic French pasties plus a full range of muffins and baked goods. Special praise for buttery, flakey croissants! Full coffee / espresso options too.

The coconut/pandan cream puff and almond croissant were incredible! Great service too. Glad this place isn’t closer to my house or else I’d be in serious trouble

Tried the peach mango danish and it was excellent. Flaky, sweet, and really well made. They serve coffee too, so it’s a good stop if you want a pastry and caffeine together.

Absolutely delicious used to be my local bakery but since moving I try my best to stop here whenever I am in the area! They have new iced drink options and a variety of flavors. The owner is so personable and makes you feel at home. Comfortable seating but the wifi is a little spotty but no issue there 🙂

Just a heads-up for others: this bakery has more of an Asian-style pastry selection even though the name sounds French. The cream puffs come in fruit flavors like mango, coconut, and strawberry, with a sweet craquelin top; very different from a traditional French cream puff. They were quite heavy and not what I expected, so not really my style. You might like it though, I can see it being a popular item.

The chocolate chip cookie had a noticeable chemical aftertaste (possibly from too much baking soda or powder) and was very sweet and salty with not much flavor, which was disappointing. I’ve never not finished a cookie, a basic cookie like this should be perfected, especially if selling at a bakery.

That said, the environment is inviting and the staff are very kind.

Great service! Delicious Croissants! The pastries have a great flavor! The pastry with blueberries was completely amazing! They accept cash and card as payment methods, and they have parking for customers. The ham and cheese croissant is super delicious too.
