Excellent from start to finish. A very friendly bartender welcomed us and took our drink order. When our table for 8 was ready we were seated and serviced with excellence through the whole meal. I can not say enough for the amazing service staff. Food was equally excellent! It was a special family event , made even more special by a special staff.
A group picture was taken at the end by the bartender to remember our night. Many thanks ! This group definitely knew how to take care of their customers.

The first restaurant we planned to go to was fully booked, so we searched on Google Maps and found Grand Lake Kitchen — and we’re so glad we did! Parking was a bit of a challenge, but once inside, we loved the spacious setup and the lively vibe.

Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and gave great food recommendations. The Fried Chicken was especially delicious — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Everything we ordered tasted amazing, and the staff made the experience even better with their warm service.

Highly recommend this place to everyone looking for great food and a welcoming atmosphere!

Have eaten at Grand Ave location several times and loved it. This was our first visit to the Dimond location. Food was excellent, service was so-so. We had a much longer wait for food than expected. The best deal on the menu was the Fried Half Chicken, which came with 2 large sides. I split this with my daughter, but it could easily have fed 3 people. The side dishes, especially Cauliflower salad, were fantastic as expected. My wife had a great lamb sausage and polenta. She said it was fabulous. The grands had the French toast and loved it…the side of peachs was excellent. My son in law had the turkey sandwich…his go to. It had lots of meat and cranberry spread on it.
This location is roomy and comfortable.
Would 100 % recommend.

Been here a few times usually just for food to go and just stick to the same things. Very chill, not to uptight. I finally had a night to hang out and decided to dine in and try out a couple of dishes. (We sat outside which was nice eat and people watch) Sadly I wasn’t to happy with the food. But the drinks ( can’t tell you what I got because it was a off menu special ) but I’ve had a few different beverages and they all have been great. Now food for me all the sandwiches don’t disappoint (veggie, yadi, beef burger) And the donuts are cooked to order and are amazing. However all the entrees I feel all needed to just be cooked longer. Overall still great, and would definitely go back.

I had dinner here last night and patron here alone on occasion. The food is pretty decent. I was only dissatisfied (for lack of a better word) last night. I had the Chicken Confit. The description just said potatoes, but I wish *sweet* potatoes had been specified. Additionally, the chicken was a little dryer than I’m used to for a Confit and there was very little of the sauce to assist. On other visits, I’ve had their burger and pork chops and found no issue. I’m just going to assume lasts nights dish just wasn’t the one for me and would still recommend this place to friends.

Nice light and decor. Can make reservations online. Good service and they let me try the beer before ordering to make sure I’d liked it. Seared rainbow trout with rice, peas and mushrooms was great, as was the side of creamy polenta

Brunch was dope as usual. They’ve mastered quite a few breakfast dishes and they’re making art with their egg and pork selections. One of the best spots to eat in Oakland. The bar and scenery are remarkable too.

I usually go to the Grand Lake location but tried this one instead today for brunch, food was delicious and well seasoned, pictured is the Hank Plate and the French Toast. Eggs were super good, potatoes came out hot, bacon was 10/10. French toast was well made and the fruit was fresh and yummy, only thing is I wish it came out a little hotter. They also use real maple syrup here which I love. Wait was very short and our total was $33

We live in the neighborhood and come in here fairly often. Recently we came in and there were 6 empty tables and some bar room. We asked for a table for two and the host said, and I quote, “No reservations? Ok, I can seat you but you need to gone in an hour.” There are many ways he could have conveyed this information but he chose to be unprofessional and disrespectful. He is lucky I didn’t unload on him right there in the restaurant, but unlike the GLK hosts I am considerate of others (and i am speaking about the other diners here not the host).

This is considered a breakfast spot but the chef here is incapable of frying an egg!?! Poached and scrambled eggs only. I suggest hiring someone who can fry an egg. I’m curious if the chef can boil water or is this too beyond their skillset?

Of all the restaurants that closed during covid this one could have disappeared and not be missed.

With so many good breakfast places in Oakland this one will not be seeing me or my friends, we’ve all had bad experiences here now. Get it together GLK.

Good food but I’m not sure if price matches value on all of the menu items. Nice atmosphere and generally a very attentive staff. Small outside seating area facing the street, large bar, and ample diner inspired seating inside.
