Great food, fast and friendly service. Did dine-in and takeaway. Both were equally delicious. Portion size was very good. There was enough food leftover for takeaway. Had order pothichor and pothibiriyani as takeaway for dinner. Their packaging and everything else was good. Flavourful
The only issue was the parking as it is a very busy street and there aren’t any nearby parking space apart from a few street residential parking.

This was our first visit to Grand Kerala as a family of three.
We ordered the Beef Coconut Fry, Pal Porotta, Kalyana Chatti Choru and Kothu Porotta. Our favourites were definitely the Pal Porotta and Kothu Porotta — both were delicious and really stood out. The Beef Coconut Fry was a bit spicy for our taste, and the Kalyana Chatti Choru didn’t quite match what we were expecting, not suited for those who are used eating properly made ghee rice.

Portion sizes were good, and the pricing was quite reasonable compared to similar restaurants. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated.

If you’re sensitive to spice, just double-check before ordering so you don’t end up with any surprises. Overall, a nice experience with some great dishes.

Absolutely loved our visit to Grand Kerala, Bristol. The beef mandi was amazing, especially with the tasty mayo and tomato chutney—so full of flavour. The pineapple lime and avocado honey drinks were refreshing and well made.

We took away biryani and fish curry as well, and everything was spot on. Great service and food arrived on time. Will definitely be back whenever in Bristol.

Wow. Just… WOW! Stop what you’re doing and listen up. For years, I have been on a sacred quest, a journey to find the most legendary, soul-satisfying Biryani in the city. I thought it was a myth, a delicious dream… until I walked into The Grand Kerrla.
Let’s get straight to the point: the Biryani here is a life-changing experience. This isn’t just food, it’s a work of art! Each grain of rice is a fluffy, fragrant cloud that has been kissed by the most incredible blend of spices. The meat was so tender and flavourful, it must have been marinated by angels. This is 100% the BEST and most LEGIT Biryani in town, and I will happily challenge anyone who disagrees to a duel (of eating more of it!).
A VERY IMPORTANT WARNING! ️
When these culinary geniuses say “spicy,” they are not kidding around. This is the real deal, the authentic, sweat-on-your-brow, see-the-face-of-God kind of spicy that separates the enthusiasts from the tourists. It is absolutely GLORIOUS. However, if you are not experienced with true South Indian heat, I strongly, strongly recommend you ask for the spice level when you order! The staff is super friendly and will help you find the perfect heat for your palate. Don’t be a hero, be a happy eater!
The service was fantastic and the atmosphere felt so welcoming. I can’t wait to come back and work my way through the entire menu. Consider me a regular for life! Do yourself a favor and get down to The Grand Kerrla immediately. Your tastebuds will thank you!

I had a wonderful dining experience here. I started with Chicken 65, which was delicious, and for the main course I tried Fish Tawa Fry, Chatti Chor, Pal Kappa, and Fish Curry. All the dishes were very tasty and nicely presented. The flavors were excellent and felt authentic. The service was okay, and overall it was a pleasant experience. I would happily visit again for the food.

Three of us walked in hungry and walked out defeated. That’s the highest compliment a Kerala restaurant can get.
Beef Mandi was on point, the pothi chooru and kalyana chooru hit different, and the kozhi porichathu was extraordinary. Beef and pazhampori , classic combo, no notes. Grape lime was refreshing and the butterscotch milkshake was genuinely delicious, just sweet enough to knock us out before we could finish it. That’s our only complaint , we physically couldn’t handle the sweetness after demolishing everything else.
Best Kerala food we’ve had in a long while. Will be back when our stomachs forgive us.

The food was incredibly delicious. While the price could have been lower to compete with other restaurants, it’s definitely worth visiting if you love Kerala dishes.

Parking is available in front of the restaurant in the bus lane after 6.30pm.

A Memorable Experience at Grand Kerala South India Cuisine, Bristol

Last week, we had the pleasure of dining at Grand Kerala South India Cuisine in Bristol, and it was truly an outstanding experience! From the moment we arrived, Jefin greeted us with his warm smile, kind words, and impeccable hospitality, which set the tone for a wonderful evening.

The food was exceptional, offering an authentic Kerala taste with unmatched quality. Every dish we tried was a perfect representation of traditional flavors that transported us straight to Kerala.

The restaurant’s ambiance was equally impressive, with a unique hand-washing area and exceptionally clean and well-maintained toilets, which added to the overall experience.

If you’re in Bristol or planning to visit, this restaurant is a must-visit! You’ll fall in love with the flavors and the remarkable customer service. Highly recommended!
