Tourist visiting the area. I wanted a great meal and found Grand Fu Yuan on the web. A bit of a different concept with fantastic results. The choice to choose from six or more restaurants at one spot was really appealing. Using the self serve kiosk, I ordered, paid and received my food all within 10 min. Will come back when I am in the area again. Good Job Guys!

One of the best restaurants- of all categories not just in Chinese food- in Irvine right now. I love the spicy beer duck if you’re into duck they make this very dark fried in dark dark beer tender duck pieces. Also love the steamed egg. Also love that the dishes here are not tooo greasy especially because you don’t drink the oil just pick up the pieces lol. The cabbage is crisp, flash fried and just right amount of spicy for this regional area and Chef likes to use Thai jasmine rice with his dishes which goes really well together. It’s hard to stay sincere for long in the game I hope they keep making them fresh and not reheated. You can taste the difference. P.s. I think the Chef is really cute haha- I may be thinking of a different guy though they have several different themed kitchens here shared by different artists and chefs. One time I went to go pick up soup late at night and he asked me why i keep eating so late it’s bad for health. I didn’t continue to converse because I was recovering from an awful concussion and cognitive problems back then (this had to be years ago) so I was shy but he was so sweet and caring. I don’t understand. Have you never made any money? A beer duck dish costs 20 yuan, and there are 14 small pieces, so that’s 1.5 yuan? I don’t think prices in Irvine are that high. It’s okay if your place is a little expensive, but you can’t fool your customers.

I watched from my home kitchen as several people arrived and placed their orders, all of which were fine. Mine wasn’t ready. Just three dishes!!
The woman came out several times, always saying wait a minute. The last time, she called to tell me my dishes weren’t ready. Just three dishes!!
I asked, “I’ve been waiting at your door for two hours, why haven’t they been made?” She then said I had five or six orders ahead of me. I’d already placed my order two hours earlier. I watched as three people who placed orders after me took their orders and left early. Sometimes they said they were too busy to make my food. Sometimes they said they had too many orders ahead of me.
I wanted to ask why I’d been waiting for two hours. I called twice, and you said it would be right away. Every time I stopped you to ask, you turned around and left. Finally, the wait was so long I couldn’t call you to ask how long it would take, and you told me it wasn’t ready. I called twice in two hours. You came out several times, and I asked you why you didn’t tell me. Your time is precious. I waited like an idiot for over two hours, and finally, when I got anxious, I asked you and you told me it wasn’t ready. I have a lot of orders ahead of me. There are only three dishes.
Maybe they can’t make it. Maybe they forgot about all the orders, or maybe they’re just too busy. Could you please tell them every time they ask? It’s been two hours. Can you be kind to them?
