Went here for a dinner with my girlfriend and her friend on a Saturday night, this was a very very disappointing experience. Our waitress was very rude, untimely, and overall terrible. It took her 25 minutes to revisit us, and everytime we ordered a drink, appetizer, or bread it was minimal 25 minutes until she came back. She never apologized with how slow it was, and to make matters worse, they were out of prime rib on a Saturday night at 6 pm, and also wine choices as well. The food was average at best. I won’t be back due to the quality of what you get and the price that you pay. Service was poor. Food and drinks took forever to come out. Had a reservation and it took them 30 mins to sit us after our schedule time. Won’t be back. Seems as they rely on the atmosphere for traffic.

Absolutely delightful dining experience. The whole concept of a restaurant in an old train station is incredibly unique and makes for a visually extravagant vibe that keeps you enticed with its architecture. On top of the awesome atmosphere, the food is simply spectacular. I highly recommend the crab cakes, or any of their seafood options as they are incredibly fresh and well prepared. Nothing let me down and i was happy with the price to portion ratio. Great place to have dinner in the Pitt area.

An interesting mix of experiences in one – incredibly beautiful location and best lobster bisque + bread rolls I’ve ever had. The service was friendly but I hate to say “amateur.” Reservation for 7:45, weren’t taken until closer to 8, things happen and not too big of a deal. Waiter took our drink orders (and appeared to write them down), came back 10 minutes later apologizing saying he forgot what our orders were. My drink (the mocktail “Desert Rose”) took 15+ minutes to get because they couldn’t find the right kind of glass I guess? Didn’t look anything like it did on the menu and didn’t taste anything like you would expect it to based on the destruction. They were gracious and replaced my drink for me with something else. We both ordered the filet mignon and lobster – the steak knives and butter were not brought out with them and arrived several minutes later. The filet mignon tasted more like an average steak, not a filet mignon, and the lobster was tough/chewy. The potatoes it came with were okay at best. Also since it’s a wedding venue – the music is SO LOUD it feels like you are at the wedding! They should soundproof that area, you can barely hear the person you’re next to at times.
Absolutely stunning building, but overall disappointing for the price to not match the quality of the food and service.

This place was absolutely phenomenal.
To start they had balet, which charged us $15 to park. The gentlemen were friendly and wasy to work with.
There was a wedding happening the night we went so the main area indoors was off limits but the place is big. We sat riverside by the window. It gives a beautiful view of the city and the water. If youre lucky youll see the gateway clipper!
The staff was wonderful. We had a waitress in training and a gentleman serving us. They were so helpful and informative.
The food was wonderful. I am a picky eater and absolutely loved the salmon sautéed. The asparagus was ok but the mash potatoes were wonderful. The bread they give wt the beginning was so so so good, im still thinking about it. They also include crackers in the bread basket, I wasnt thrilled about those
Our drinks were great too. Took a little to come out due to the bar being backed up, but it was well worth the wait.
A phenomenal restaurant to go to for an anniversary, i highly highly recommend

Evelyn, our server, saved the day! We made reservations for a birthday dinner in the main dining room, only to arrive to find out it was closed because there was a wedding booked. The room we were seated in instead, was still pretty with a view of the river, BUT it wasn’t what we were expecting, and there was no mention of the main dining room being closed, thus the 4 for the review because I think they could have done better with communication about that. Otherwise, Evelyn was friendly, funny, and helped us forget about the inconvenience, and the food and cocktails were fantastic. We will go back as a result of still having a great experience, but we will be making sure proactively that there aren’t any events in the main dining room before we book next time.

They seated us 45 minutes behind our 1pm reservation time, then after being seated we head to the buffet to finally eat and all the trays were empty. We told our waitress but they never refilled them. This was hands down the WORST experience I’ve had here. Very expensive, for absolutely no food.

I remain thoroughly impressed by my experience at Grand Concourse. The views are truly exceptional, and the décor is uniquely elegant and visually striking. The service was attentive and personalized, contributing greatly to the overall enjoyment of the visit. This venue is an ideal choice for an upscale Pennsylvania experience. Even the restroom design was notably refined. Every aspect was executed to perfection.

My husband and I fell in love with the Grand Concourse when we moved to Pittsburgh over 10 years ago. That is why it was very special to us to be able to celebrate our baby shower there in September. We worked with Sales and Events Manager, Brian George, who helped us plan a menu that wowed all of our guests! Everyone raved about the carving station and the french toast in particular! The staff were incredibly attentive and our friends were able to set up some decorations which enhanced the already stunning venue. It was very cool for our out-of-town guests in particular to have an experience that was simultaneously elevated and quintessentially Pittsburgh. Can’t thank the Grand Concourse enough for making our celebration such a great success!
