We stopped at the Winn-Dixie for fried chicken and saw this place and decided to check it out. We got take out off the lunch menu. I got the shrimp lo mein. It was ok and came with yellow rice which was fresh and tasty. Hubs had the sweet and sour chicken which was horrible and fried chicken wings which was ok just no real flavor. The sweet and sour sauce was like bland water with orange/red food coloring, the chicken pieces had a very thick puffy coating of flour and was equally bland. He ended up eating half of my lunch and throwing his out. The ladies behind the counter and the male who brought out our food were pleasant but we wouldn’t go back.

The food here isn’t bad, but I refuse to order here again because their daughter (I assume) is so god damn rude. Can’t be older than 14 but needs to be put in her place. Called to order for pickup. As soon as I said, “Hi, I’d like…” I was cut off with “Yeah what do you want”. Ended up cancelling the order. I’ve encountered her in person before too and she’s got a serious attitude problem. Will not give these people more money just because of their daughter. It’s too bad – they’ve got a son too who is the complete opposite. HE needs to be the face of your customer service.

This take out is the worst ever. You call your order in and they don’t repeat it back to you and simply hang up. I ordered Shrimp Szechuan and when my husband came home with the food it was chicken szechuan. I called to have it redone. When I went back to get the correct order they took the old box from me and when they came with the supposedly new order the box looked exactly like the one they took from me. It looked like they simply took the chicken out of the box and replaced it with shrimp. When I asked if it was a new order they stated it was a new box. Does this look like a new box? I questioned them and they stated they gave me a new order. To top it off I had to pay an additional 57 cents more. I had to give them 1 star in order to post. However it should be negative 1000 or more stars.

This place always has some awesome food. But the customer service on the other hand needs some attention. The teenager working behind the counter makes it seem obvious she doesn’t want to be there.
Still highly recommended the food though.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in DeLand that we’ve tried so far…we’ve been in search of good Chinese cuisine, and with a few exceptions, this place has delicious food and friendly owners/staff.
The crab rangoon was the best I’ve ever had, and the pupu platter items were all fresh and tasty (pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, egg rolls). Hot sour soup was pretty good also.
The only disappointment for us, was the chicken curry, which we ordered because my husband is not a fan of vegetables in his dishes. This is the first one we’ve ever had which had more veg than meat, and over half of it was bulked out with brocolli. After separating them, the spice and flavor of the curry itself was very nice. The Chinese vegetables were a good complement and a reasonable quantity for the portion. The brocolli, however, should not have been the primary ingredient.
As this is a personal preference, we still give them 4 stars. We’ll ask them to leave out the brocolli next time. So if you’re like my husband, and you’re not a fan of broccoli, order something else or just ask them to skip the brocolli.
Looking forward to our next visit!
