Had a great dinner with family. Place was pretty packed for a Saturday evening. Glad we made reservations. Good variety of fresh seafood available; lobster, crab, prawn, sea bass, soon hock etc. The staff crew was commendable. They were very friendly, proficient and fast in their service. Parking was simple as there were parking attendants tasked to organise the parking area. Also, we manage to witness a beautiful sunset from the restaurant. Will definitely return.

Ok we did not get chopped like tourist cause we ordered regular food. No lobster. No Alaskan crab etc.

Scallops asparagus – can pass, scallops has strong alkaline taste, we know what that is. Asparagus was good.

No live prawns, ordered cereal prawns. Tasteless, expected, mixed in cereal becomes edible

Tua Tao (大头)- missed this for very long. So rare see so much, so fat, so clean, can’t resist. Super fresh, super sweet, wonderful shell. Whole plate for RM30, just right. Didn’t get enough, ended up ordering another plate fried in another style.

Garlic steam oyster – mega size, tasty, sweet, steamed just right, was so delicious that we ordered another 1.

Egg steam crab – egg so so. Crab was plump, sweet, fresh and full of omph! Slowly took our time to extract all tee meat, such an experience.

All in 6 dish cost us around RM400+ … Ok we eat a lot

chili crab is top level, must try. Crab is juicy as they alive before 10min ago. You can choose the big one, small one from aquarium.

Service is attensive, they always change the plate to new one. Also, quick response even high occupancy.

Price is not cheap but affordable considering the quality(I thought it is more Singapore price). One big bottle of carlsberg is 28rm. We, four adults, eat lala, crab, fish, vegetable, 8 bottole of beer. Then, it was 718rm.

Good place for Dinner! Never go wrong place for your guests.

We ordered Crispy Roasted Chicken (very soft and tender!), Ostrich Meat, Salted Caramarel and Vegetables. They are all very tastfuly done.

Will definitely recommend to come!

All the above food at Small Portion + Drinks and Rice for 5 pax. RM280 in total.

Long story short, it was a tourist trap.

Prices were crazy expensive and even the staff attitude changed as she slightly mocked us when we didn’t order the seasonal items like the crab, lobster, etc. A lot of the menu items were either sold out or need us to reserve a few days before, even they were just fried chicken.

Another issue was that we requested all for the fried rice to be in small size, but for some reason, some of them were ordered in medium size instead. Furthermore, the fish maw soup was the most shocking as there were so little crab meat and scallop with a whopping price of RM160.

It left a good impression when we arrived, but after we ate, definitely not coming back.

Crispy roasted chicken was good though, that I have to be honest.

We thought it’s gonna be V. v Expensive! and get chopped like a Carrot
To our surprise! With the V fresh seafood, tasty dishes and huge portions! It’s abt SGD30 per pax!
The steamed SoonHock fish is the most expensive at MYR220. It is Very fresh. So are the Prawns! Fat fat, big & firm! So many struggling to finish them all.
The venison was super tender & tasty!
Look at our photos!!! & our bill !

(Only comment : the fruit platter is not chilled very weird to eat room temperature fruits – maybe it’s just me , cuz it has been a hot day of activities)
The restaurant is very clean, spacious and windy! Huge fans were blowing, so it’s comfy
– toilets are v clean too!
– attentive service
– can come again ◡̈
(We didn’t order lobster crabs but it’s %% much cheaper than SIN)

Served in a large bowl for sharing. The soup has a thick, starchy consistency with strands of egg and crab meat. While it follows the classic banquet-style presentation, the flavor leans towards mild, best enhanced with a dash of vinegar or pepper according to preference.

Service
The restaurant operates in a bustling environment with fast-paced service. Staff are attentive enough given the crowd, though peak hours can mean longer wait times for food.

Overall Experience
Grand Bayview Seafood Restaurant delivers what one expects from a large seafood establishment – fresh seafood, banquet-style dishes, and a lively family-friendly atmosphere. It’s not a fine-dining spot, but it excels in providing hearty seafood meals in a casual, energetic setting.

✅ Best for: Family gatherings, celebrations, and seafood lovers.
Price: Mid to high, depending on seafood selection (market price applies).
⭐ Rating: 4.2 / 5 – Great seafood with lively atmosphere, slightly commercial but consistent.

This is one of the oldest seafood restaurants as far as i recall within JB. What sets it apart other than the fresh stock out in the open, is the adjacent open kitchen combined. This degree of transparency represents a hallmark of confidence. The food served becomes the indicator. Having been here over the years, they have managed to maintain a stellar standard. The chilli crabs remain to be my personal favourite. The taste adheres to the identity of what authentic Malaysia seafood represents. Do not let the seafood dishes alone seduce you. They actually serve one of the better versions of fried rice. Highly recommended

Had a nice dinner sitting in the outdoor dining area.
Windy..
The food is nice. Service crew is attentive. Food serving is progressive despite the huge crowd.

As of yesterday, we paid RM140/100gm for a grouper. Nicely done.
