We’ve been to a few of the other Mexican restaurants in the red mill area, we tried Gran Maya since the photos looked good and we didn’t want to go to the others, for reasons. Gran Maya is really beautiful inside and out. There’s lots of art and it seems to honor the culture.
We enjoyed all of the staff interactions and we had a great time here. They don’t serve white sauce with the red salsa. The chips were nice, the red sauce had a tiny bit of spice and depth. The table side guacamole was wonderful. Our food was really great too. I was surprised by the ground beef flavor and the black beans were amazing.
We’ll be back here, it’s worth making a special trip! Margaritas were great. They didn’t have the special tequila in stock but they were able to recommend a small brand that was delicious and herbal, they have to special order it. The menu was nicely extensive with lots of dishes not common to the typical Mexican restaurant in the area.

We always come here whenever we crave for Mexican food. Delicious foods with reasonable prices. Good service and nice people. My favorite dish here is their fried seafood chimichangas. Only complaint I have is that my cucumber was a bit salty for me and my rice seems a little too moist for me. Other than that, everything else tastes great. I recommend this place anytime.

A great restaurant with a fun design and atmosphere. The food was delicious and portions were huge. You can have leftovers or eat it all and roll out the restaurant . Good salsa, cheese dip, and chips. Highly recommend.

It was first time for us I love the margarita with mango. We got elote and fresh guacamole for appetizer we enjoyed it was definitely so good. Only thing my fajita meat was little dry, birria tacos was amazing and service was nice, our service was so polite and had a good energy. We will be back

Was in the mood for some tacos for dinner and decided to try this place out. The inside of place is really cool and the staff was super nice. The food came out quick and was okay, wasn’t like crazy good. Fire queso was really good though. Unfortunately my server was just a tad slow which I would have understood if it was super busy but there were only like 5 people eating at the time I went. Other than that he was super cool and friendly. I would recommend giving this place a try.

The most amazing Mexican food I’ve ever had. You can taste the fesh ingredients. We tried several different dishes and were absolutely satisfied with everything. Our server Karmesha was SUPER AMAZING and it was only her 2nd day on the job. Definitely our new go to spot whenever we are in the VA beach area. ♨️♨️
