Excellent dinner from start to finish.
The seasonal menu was thoughtful and well executed, with great balance and high-quality ingredients. The lamb main was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and the overall pacing of the meal felt just right. Desserts were refined and not overly sweet. Professional service and a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. Would definitely return.

We had lunch at Gramercy Tavern on Sunday with a group of four, seated in the Tavern area rather than the formal dining room. The cocktails were a fantastic start—absolutely 5 out of 5. The staff was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming.
The flatbread was excellent, one of the highlights of the meal. But overall, I was hoping for a bit more from the rest of the food. We tried the burger, pork shoulder, swordfish, tomato salad, and liver mousse. While some dishes were fine, the burger and pork shoulder in particular were disappointing and just didn’t hit the mark. The salad and mousse also felt a little ordinary.
For a place with such a strong reputation—and at this price point—I expected the dishes to shine more. Still, the service and vibe were wonderful, which made the experience enjoyable overall.
If I had to rate it: 5 stars for service and ambiance, but about 3 stars for the food, so overall a solid 3 stars.

Really lovely place to dine! Food is delicious and staff is amazing. Host staff is one of the best in the city! The burger is divine, but don’t miss out on the seasonal pastas either! And you can’t miss the chocolate chip cookie with milk. They have a coat check as well which is really nice.
Would definitely recommend you have a reservation or look for seating at the bar.

From start to finish, this was the best dining experience my now wife and I have ever had. We’re on our honeymoon, and having each worked over a decade in hospitality, this being our first Michelin-star experience set the bar impossibly high. Our server Michael was exceptional—warm, personable, and spot-on with both dinner and drink recommendations and suggestions for a perfect nightcap afterward. Luka paired wines beautifully with our mid course and mains, elevating each course effortlessly. Chef Michael even came out to chat with us about the industry and mutual connections back home, and surprised us with a lobster and truffle bite that was nothing short of incredible.Every single dish was sublime. The dirty martini (with pickle brine) was the best we’ve ever had. Even their simple red pepper and cashew starter was just shockingly good, and the seafood platter was absolutely worth it. From the yellowtail to the gnocchi and squid ink caramelle, every course hit. The pork loin and belly and the sirloin were both outstanding. Dessert sealed the night—the cherry chocolate dessert, followed by little chocolates to finish with a hummingbird cake. They even sent us off with something special to enjoy the next morning, which we can’t wait to enjoy.Flawless hospitality, thoughtful touches, and unforgettable food. An experience we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

I’ve been to Gramercy Tavern many times in the past, and it’s usually a wonderful experience. The dining area is always lovely, though this time I was seated in a less attractive section, which was a bit disappointing.
The course menu started strong — the starter was full of flavor and really enjoyable. Unfortunately, the main dishes didn’t quite meet expectations. The pork loin was overcooked and dry, and I ended up switching to the sirloin steak, which also turned out to be quite chewy. It felt like the quality of the meat just wasn’t up to their usual standard.
That said, the overall experience was still great. The service was excellent and truly made up for the food missteps. I’ll definitely be back, but hoping for better luck with the mains next time.

I’ve been wanting to try Gramercy Tavern for a while, and it didn’t disappoint. The space is beautiful—big but warm, with a great vibe that makes it feel both lively and welcoming. Service throughout was friendly, personable, and exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. I went with the tasting menu, which was excellent and very seasonal. Each course came with two options, and there were some tough choices to make. The meal started strong with an amuse-bouche of oysters that were outstanding and set high expectations for the rest of the night. The beets I had as a starter were delicious and perfectly in season, and the hay-smoked gnocchi was another standout—rich, earthy, and full of flavor. The lamb was also excellent, though my portion had a bit more bone than I would’ve liked. Dessert brought things full circle with a hazelnut tart in a Concord grape sauce that was both seasonal and beautifully balanced. Overall, an outstanding dinner and a place I’d happily return to!

Incredible service and vibes, but the food was a letdown.
I visited on a Wednesday evening and the place was absolutely buzzing. I’d actually made a mistake with my reservation and accidentally booked the tasting menu, but I really had my heart set on the Tavern Burger. Despite it being packed, the staff was fantastic—they pivoted quickly and found me a spot at the bar so I could order from the Tavern menu. The energy here is truly infectious!
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the atmosphere. I was advised to get the burger medium-rare, but that was definitely not the move—it arrived borderline raw. If you order it, I’d strongly suggest going medium or medium-well. I also found the heavy “smoky” profile of both the aioli and the oysters to be pretty unappetizing.
The saving grace was the cookie at the end. It was delicious (though very heavy!), but the malted chocolate milk it came with just tasted like regular milk. Overall, come for the service and the scene, but the kitchen was a miss for me.

Came here by myself
Friendly staff and great food!
As a Chinese I usually don’t like American style food
But the chief here made a good balance!
I completely finished all the dishes
Only sauce for the fish is still a little creamy for me but the fish itself is not greasy at all.
Love here

The Dining Room is perfect for a date as it is less crowded and reservations are easier to come by. The service was impeccable, and they even let us order the famous burger and cookie from the Tarven’s menu. If you want to try their famous burger but can’t get a reservation for the Tarven, give their Dining Room a try! But just keep in mind that you are unlikely to be able to order anything else besides the burger and desserts from the Tarven’s menu, as they try to keep the two restaurants separate. Overall, while we had a great dining experience there, the famous burger didn’t live up to its hype. It’s nice, but nothing special. The cookie , on the other hand, was a winner! The Hanger Steak was delicious, tender and juicy, a little on the sweeter side. The bread was also very good .
