The set up was cute on the outside with a kind of modern flair. Inside much more of an older feel. The hunt room was certainly made for smaller affairs and was great for that. The selection of cheeses was certainly unique, but overall tasty.

Great easter day brunch at this place. I have been to this place couple of time. We had prefixed easter menu and it was amazing. All 4 courses were decent enough and entrees are significantly larger. I wish entrees could have been more flavorful. Our family had great family time with quality of food. Servers were amazing, polite and patience. Hence I am vegetarian, they were very accommodating about it. They were constantly checking in us about how are we liking it. Its an amazing historical building and one of the nicer family restaurants.

The staff was cordial and the service was fast. The toilet paper was excellent. We did not receive food poisoning. However, the strawberry basil relish for the salmon was 87% too sugary, and there was way too much relish and couscous, compared to only maybe 5-6oz of salmon, for over $30 USD. All of the food was bland, but the soup was very salty with an onion flavor ($9 for about 8 fl oz). I think some spices like cumin, oregano, etc. would have helped, and definitely more fresh vegetables. The couscous had only tiny bits of unflavored vegetables. Overall, I left hungry. This place would probably be great for people who crave bland meals and make over $450,000 in income after taxes.

I recently had the pleasure of working as a photographer at The Grain House, located within the historic Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. I had the honor of capturing the beautiful wedding of Jodi and Nick, and I must say that the experience was nothing short of remarkable.

Wanted to meet a couple of friends for a consistently good place to eat with healthy options and outdoor dining. The Grain House met our needs. As always, the service was absolutely wonderful. It’s an incredibly friendly staff from the time you walk in the door to the time you depart. Even the individuals who refill your water and bus your table are kind and always smiling. The atmosphere is just right as the tables are spread out enough that you can enjoy your conversation and enjoy the beautiful grounds. We had these wonderful watermelon martinis and for my main course I had the Blackened Florida Grouper with southern succotash and a key lime beurre blanc. Delish!!! And, clean bathrooms to boot!

Classic American restaurant. The braised beef short ribs were great. I was also surprised by the mac and cheese wedge, which arrived as a large slice, breaded and deep fried. It was completely unexpected but it was delicious. The “mini” apple pie while small in size was very filling and delightful.

While the burgers are the best around, Dave the bartender and the rest of the staff make the night enjoyable. Fast service, he remembers what I drink and always quick with a joke. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Try the burger and splurge on the pork chop. Life changing.

We stopped at this restaurant after visiting Buck Garden. What I like about this restaurant is it is not only a historical place where they stored grain for the continental army based in Jockey Hollow, but also have multiple rooms to dine in. We had lunch on the patio with tables and umbrellas up to protect you from the sun. We had the Simple Salmon Grill seasoned with grilled local garden vegetables, aged balsamic drizzle perfectly prepared. The Angus beef burger with sweet potato fries was not greasy and perfectly cooked medium rare. Dessert was a Lemon Curd with fresh cut strawberries and topped with whipped cream. Before we left we saw the Fox and Hunt room a more formal dining room and the Hunt and tap room downstairs perfect for a wedding party with outdoor garden. This will be the go to restaurant for lunch in Basking Ridge, NJ. A real treasure with great chef and waitress serving.
