After staying across the street for several days, we decided to walk over for breakfast.
It’s a very charming looking, kind of rustic looking place. We ordered coffee. Our server was a sweet young lady, but seemed surprised that we asked for cream. She pointed at a paper container on the table which had jelly in it. We acknowledged the jelly and repeated that we would like some cream.
The menu had some interesting options and I chose the Gracious biscuits and gravy with more sage sausage and green onions and a scrambled egg.
I should have known when I saw the scrambled egg that I was in for a disappointing experience. It was truly the flattest scrambled egg I have ever seen. There is more fluff on a clean dustmop.
Again our server seemed surprised that we asked for butter for the famous biscuits.
My partner ordered Paw Paw’s big breakfast. It was brought with flat scrambled eggs and bacon instead of two over medium eggs and sausage.
The service was lightning fast if not accurate.
A friendly person in chef’s garb came by smiling and asked if everything was okay. We were polite although I had barely had a bite at that point.
The added sausage was a tiny sprinkle on top and I saw no green onions. I can live with that, except that the gravy was so salty that all I could eat was the flat scrambled egg. I don’t add salt to my food because I taste it first. I couldn’t eat it because it was so salty.
My partner’s order had been corrected and he ate the eggs but barely ate anything else. This is a “clean your plate” kind of guy. He hardly touched the hash browns.
We were asked if we wanted boxes for our barely eaten food and declined.
The place was cute, the chef was pleasant, but the food was awful. I can’t recommend it and I won’t go back.

Server was super sweet but lacked knowledge on GF items. She frequently had to ask someone else which didn’t make me feel great since I have an allergy. The bbq was mediocre but to be fair I am used to great Kansas City BBQ. The pulled pork and brisket came out cold. The green beans had no seasoning and the potato salad had the oddest flavor. My husband got the mac and cheese and he said it was great. They also were not serving deviled eggs that day. The sauces were all great! It was mediocre food but the atmosphere was great and so was the location.

Was extremely disappointed. I got take out on a afriday about 8:30pm. Service was slow(supposedly the sausage). Restaurant interior was nothing special. The pulled pork had way too much fat. Apparently, fat was never trimmed out. Sausage had jalapeño pepper with cheddar cheese, but cheese was never listed. Big problem since I had dairy issues. Brisket was OK, but nothing special. Although prices were reasonable($20), I focus on a good meal, and Gracious Pig would fall a distant 2nd to McDonalds. Definitely not worth stopping for diner.

Staff always friendly, food always great. You won’t leave hungry. Smoked cauliflower app and corn pudding are must haves.
Big Biscuit Breakfast available also.

Was the off season so it wasn’t crowded, the barbecued chicken was delicious, not dry and overcooked like some places, my husband has a chicken sandwich also not overcooked. We had an appetizer of chili cheese fries and they were sooo good..They have a selection of barbecue sauces, my favorite was the cheerwine barbecue sauce . The restaurant had an old time general store , barbecue shack vibe with 70s and 80s country and rock.I imagine its very crowded in season. Also had a porch with outdoor seating

I really don’t like to leave these kind of reviews but the past few times my coworkers and I have been here the food has been horrible. This is my order today, I am baffled by how someone seriously scooped these “refried beans” for baked beans onto my plate. Then why is the bread harder to chew than the brisket? The food there used to be great, please converse with your kitchen staff because someone is really fumbling the ball.

OMG! You must go to the Gracious Pig for breakfast!! Everything was soooo delicious. First morning I ordered the biscuits with gravy – HUGE biscuits!! Gravy was spot on. My BF ordered Hanky’s Fried Egg sandwich. Said it was the best he’s ever had. The second morning I ordered Paw Paws Big Breakfast and BF got Grand Pappy’s Favorite breakfast – go big or go home!!! Can’t say enough about the food! Our server was super sweet and the chef was so cool. Highly recommend!!
