GRACIA is the Spanish translation for the word grace. Chester Gerl’s vision for Gracia is founded on his deep admiration and reverence for Mexican culture and cuisine. A palate cultivated by his many years of travels across Mexico, growing up in Long Beach, California and his tenure in Seattle and New York kitchens, Gerl strives to create dishes reflective of his personal experiences. Sourcing pure and honest ingredients, he preserves and honors the history and techniques of traditional Mexican cuisine. Gerl imports non-GMO, heirloom corn varieties from Oaxaca, Mexico, then nixtamalizes the kernels in house; the result, fresh masa. Masa, the foundation and heart of his menu, produces distinctly nuanced, earthy flavors that are reflective…

The food tastes super fresh and flavorful, and the prices feel very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Their tortillas are made to order, and you can really taste that warm, fresh-made difference in every bite. The tacos are big, loaded with fillings, and honestly, a couple of them can be a full meal.
Their in-house sauces are awesome. They are really flavorful with just the right amount of kick to level up anything you are eating. I also loved their hot fruit punch. It’s a perfect cozy drink on a cold Seattle winter night.
Don’t skip dessert: the churros are unique and super good. They fry them in a donut shape, make them fresh to order, and serve them with warm chocolate sauce. They have just the right amount of sweetness and are the perfect way to finish the meal.
Food looked great, and ingredients were high quality, but tasted kind of mid. $7 for a taco, but was very forgettable. Burrito bowl: the rice and the “soft-boiled” egg were both very undercooked.
I ordered the huarache, a taco, and a michelada. The taco was soooooooo good, handmade tortillas and a generous amount of meat. The michelada was the best I’ve had since my last trip to Mexico. My boyfriend ordered the Menudo and it was super flavorful as well.
Overall, amazing food, great flavor, and a spot I’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend!
On the plus side, the vibe of the place was nice, and I appreciated the option to sit both indoors and outdoors. The service was just okay—nothing exceptional, but it got the job done.
I had the pork belly and beef tongue tacos, and both were incredibly flavorful and tender. The coconut flan was also amazing, and I couldn’t get enough of the habanero house sauce. They even sell it if you want to take some home!
The service was great, very attentive, and they gave solid recommendations. The outdoor area is dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. My dog also got a treat and a water bowl. The outdoor setting was really nice, too.
I can’t wait to come back to try more taco flavors and their dinner menu!
