First, the food was delicious, of course. It was expensive, of course, but definitely very appropriately priced for the quality of the food and experience! As a college student, I wanted to find a place where if it was expensive, I knew it was not overpriced, and it definitely was not! The steak and other foods I ate were delicious! The wine selection was also great and their sommelier was excellent and well versed on the menu.
Second, the service was lovely and I felt very well taken care of on my birthday. I never was made to feel awkward, out of place, or unimportant. In fact, they made me feel very welcome and treated me with compassion and kindness — even excitement — for my choice to spend my evening there! They were so kind and friendly. I loved the employees I talked to.
And finally, the atmosphere was beautiful and very appropriate. It was not anything overly themed or special, but it felt very nice and refined, and tailored to the quality of the restaurant and food.
Overall, I really loved my visit. I thank them greatly for the compassion and lovely experience for my birthday!
DO NOT EAT HERE.
Last night my husband and I went here to celebrate his birthday.
He enjoyed his malbec and steak. I enjoyed my mixed drink, the 7, and we both enjoyed the appetizer of oysters.
When the French onion soup came out, it was boiling hot. Most soups should be hot, but this was over-the-top lava hot. After letting it cool, we were greeted with a bland mixture of blah. It just wasn’t good.
After the soup bowls were picked up, we waited at least 30 minutes for our mains. During this time, our server did not check on us one time. We were not given an explanation, an apology, a time frame, nothing. Another server had to refill our waters – TWICE.
We finally received our mains and our side dish of spinach artichoke dip. My scallops were seasoned with the richest sauce known to man. The potato (??) mixture under it had an awful texture and consistency. I tried to finish my last scallop because of the price, but after chewing a bite or two, I had to spit it out. I apologize if I left a mess in the table. The spinach artichoke side was far too salty. It was inedible. We should have sent it back.
With the trifecta of poor food quality, the terrible service and the ridiculously high bill for a party of two, we will NEVER be back.
I would rather eat at Taco Bell and risk explosive dysentery and I promise I’ll tell anyone with an ear the same thing.
