Reviews
Sometimes the servers can be a bit task focused, but then they do warm up eventually.
It has good vibes, but a little bit of mismatched style in the place.
Our server, James, was incredible. He was so attentive and genuinely kind. The food came out quickly, and the drinks were delicious and strong — which we loved! When our meals arrived, the owner even came by to check on us. He was friendly, warm, and funny, which made the experience even more special. ❤️
Hands down the best curry in Riverside! The pad see ew was amazing, the sushi was delicious, and we can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. Definitely a new go-to for
I have mixed feelings about my visit to Gra Pow. The staff is fantastic—our waitress was super prompt, friendly, and attentive the whole time—but the food was a bit of a roller coaster. The ambiance was good but it was a busy night and we had to sit at the bar, which made it a bit louder than we wanted.
The Good:
Definitely order the Yellowtail Carpaccio. It was the highlight of the meal. The citrus sauce was crisp and flavorful, and the jalapeño added the perfect amount of spice.
The Okay:
The Crunch Roll was… fine. It’s a pretty basic roll, but the eel sauce was really strong compared to other sushi spots I’ve been to. If you like heavy sauce, you might like it, but it was a bit much for me.
The Not-So-Good:
I would skip the Tuna Tartare. It was a huge letdown. It was served with bread, which made the texture really mushy—a total no-go for me. On top of that, it just wasn’t flavorful. The sauce on it felt like it was there just for the sake of having sauce; it didn’t add anything to the dish.
Verdict:
Come for the friendly service and the carpaccio, but maybe skip the tartare.
This place is beautiful from the outside and very clean inside, but the decor is a bit bizarre—seems like it used to be a different restaurant and they kept a beachy, retro vibe. It’s also connected to a bar or pub, which gives it a unique atmosphere.
We were seated quickly, but unfortunately, our server was not great. She seemed really out of it, maybe just having a bad day, but she ignored us and had a noticeably unfriendly attitude. I came with kids, and while I don’t expect special treatment, it felt like they were completely disregarded. We had to ask for extra plates and utensils, which should’ve been a given.
We were also disappointed to find out they don’t serve sushi on Sundays or Mondays, something we were really looking forward to.
The prices are definitely on the higher end, but the food was just okay—comparable to other Thai spots. Overall, not bad, but I wouldn’t return.
For entree, we got Kung pao chicken with side of fried rice and chowmein along with chowmein with chicken. The fried rice had a smell to it, but it could have been the sauce that was added.
Although the food overall was good, it could have been a little more flavorful and spicy.
Wouldn’t mind coming back again and trying the dessert.
The seating process was simple—it’s a self-seating arrangement—but we were greeted and assisted right away, which was a nice touch. Once we ordered, I was blown away by the freshness of the food. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients.
Overall, Gra Pow has quickly become one of my favorite Thai places. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere!
Came here hungry and ordered the spicy and sour noodle soup lunch special. The salad was delicious with crispy noodles to contrast the greens, and the noodle soup tasted excellent. I ended up finishing everything very quickly and my only reservation is that I was worried that I would still be hungry after finishing the soup. The soup filled me up and I am eager to try out the other lunch specials when I am in Riverside
