Good Japanese spot that I accidentally turned into. Glad I did…food is delicious. The eating area is a bit small and I saw a lot of people just doing to go orders. Portions are big and the sushi is made fresh.

I got the steak and shrimp and it was very tasty! The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare as ordered, the shrimp was nicely grilled and juicy. Highly recommend!

First time here. Got chicken Katsu hibachi and crab rangoon. Both were delicious! I ate the rangoon before I could get a picture. Veggies are hidden under the fried chicken. Only $20 and could feed 2 people!

We recently noticed this newish (to us, that is) ramen place off Markham and Bowman and stopped in for lunch today as we did some shopping at nearby Trader Joe’s. We were very glad we did so. The ramen was excellent.
I had brothless ramen with chicken katsu; hubby had tonkotsu ramen with pork. Both were excellent (and both are depicted below). The boiled egg halves that came with both could not have been better prepared, soft and yielding when bitten into. The tonkotsu was very well seasoned with a tiny hint of ginger. Both the pork slices in that bowl and the generous slices of chicken katsu in my bowl couldn’t have been tastier.
The single discordant note was that my brothless bowl of noodles was sweetened in some way. The unexpected sweetness detracted from what was otherwise a wonderful ramen lunch.
This is a small order-at-the counter type of place with a limited menu — and that’s a good thing, since what they do, they obviously do well. The interior is pleasant, with bench seating at tables against a wall and bright cushions one can sit on scattered on the bench.
I highly recommend Gozen after our lunch there today. We’ll be back.

The best bowl or ramen around! The sushi and crab Rangoon were also very good and tasted fresh. Cleam restaurant with cute decor.

Excellent! I had the stir fried noodles with chicken. It was perfect – the noodles and veggies were cooked just right, not mushy or undercooked. The chicken was tender and juicy with some crisp edges. Gobsmacked someone in this city knows how to cook chicken! The overall flavor was savory and the taste was just right and I’m craving it again just thinking about it.
It’s a cozy spot too. Tucked to the side of the road in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it storefront, the dining area is smaller, but can accommodate 30-50 people. I really liked the bar seating with the window view. Everything I could see was extremely clean and tidy – the soda fountain still looks brand new.
Lastly the service was great. The woman who took my order at the counter was very polite and answered all of my questions about the menu – she even brought me chopsticks and napkins to my seat! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to try more

Tried this place for the first time tonight, and it was extremely good! They offer coke product fountain drinks. The interior is super cute, and the service was super quick and friendly. We also loved the music they had playing while we ate. They offer hibachi fried rice and basic sushi rolls which we thought were delicious. But what we really enjoyed was the takoyaki and the steamed buns! The meat was so tender in the braised pork buns and the takoyaki had a lot of meat in the fillings. I also believe this is quite a bit of takoyaki for the price as many places only give you a small amount. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Traveling from out of town and stopped in here bc there is no way the amazing reviews lied. They definitely didn’t disappoint!! Everything we got was amazing! Several deep fried rolls, steak/shrimp hibachi, gyoza, and spring rolls. If I ever end up back amd little rock id make the drive across town to get another taste!

Nice comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Food was very good. Sushi (spicy tuna roll) was pretty good and the rice egg bowl was very good and a large portion. I’ll be going back to try other dishes. It would be nice if the menu specified which dishes were gluten free.

My son wanted to try Gozen Japan House on Bowman for a while. So today, Thursday, August 21, 2025 around 11 a.m. after his doctor appointment, I decided to treat him. The young Asian lady that was a the cash register CHARGED ME TWICE ON TWO DIFFERENT CARDS!! She kept insisting that her tablet showed an error. Fortunately, I decided to check BOTH of my accounts while I was still there. When I confronted her about the double charge, she pretended not to understand. I pulled out both of my cards and showed her my account on my phone, clearly pointing out that I had been charged twice and that I wanted a refund for one of the transactions. Then she said, “oh, you want a refund”. I said, “Yes, and a receipt”. She gave me a refund in CASH and on the receipt she put that I paid in CASH, even though I paid with my Cards (BIG RED FLAG )! The FOOD was SO DISGUSTING. The rice and the noodles had a wired tasted and she tried to still from me and make me pay for it twice!!! It felt like she was trying to scam me by charging me twice for the meal. I’m really FURIOUS about the entire experience!!! Despite everything, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. BE CAREFUL AND CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS. I wish there was something that you could used to make sure your food was not contaminated!!
On August 30, 2025, I reached out to the email address the owner provided in his post, as instructed. He responded and mentioned that he wanted to make things right, which I appreciated.
However, I haven’t heard anything further since then.
