Reviews
Edit post owner’s reply – I’m really disappointed by the owners reply. I actually did not lie about anything here in my review. Both in my review and my rating, i mentioned that the service was attentive which it was. As the owner mentioned, they asked me if “everything was alright” and I replied “yes” because I don’t understand what else I could have said. The staff or the owner didn’t do anything wrong, but I just didn’t like my experience and posted a review based on my experience. I also noted the positives about service and the food being fresh. But what really is telling is the owner’s distasteful comment about the $20 and 3 plates of food ( I only had a couple , one of them was the cold cold gulabjamun and I paid for it ? ) . Thank you, maybe I was wrong about the service !
Edit 2 – I was just going through my old reviews and I saw that the owner edited his comment again. This time, wording it a bit more professionally but still taking personal jabs and taking things out of context. This is going to be my final response. I’ve never seen an establishment trying to manipulate things over a small customer review. What I wrote was my opinion, others are free to agree or disagree with my view. What I did is just add my perspective, for others to see. As far as my ratings are concerned, there’s a reason why I add a review along with the rating. Sometimes, a place is 3.5 stars out of 5 for me, but there’s no way for me to add that information in the rating. I try to give context behind my thoughts and why I rated it so and I don’t need to defend my ratings. If a prospective customer finds my rating low, they can clearly disagree with my viewpoint judging by my “so-called rating history” as you point out so succinctly. It’s just one person’s opinion, I really don’t understand why you had to make such a big deal out of it. Going back to remove some of the distasteful things you said and trying to paint me as a never-satisfied food critical is just diabolical. I wish you best of luck and I hope you never treat a customer like me again
Coming to main course- the kadhi had a JELLY like texture, channa was sour which totally means they both were stale. The other main course were below average in taste.
The chicken biryani was tasteless, it was very light brown in color, so you know it barely had any taste in it, any restaurant can make pulao better than this.
The atmosphere is of a very old Indian restaurant maybe from the 90s, dull and dark from the inside.
Dont why the restaurant has a 4 rating. Definitely my top 3 worst Indian restaurant in Houston.
Owners please make a note to not serve stale food to customers, like cmon jelly like texture in kadi, stale aloo, brown chicken….
Please don’t tarnish the reputation of India restaurants.
The flavours were just to bland and the spice level was nonexistent.
The location of the restaurant is not the best either.
Houston is home to some good Indian food options, this one just misses the mark in my opinion.
