A few time a year we pass through this area on our way to Wilmington. We had to stop this time and try the “World Famous” grinders. We had an Italian combination grinder, and it was good. We now have yet another good place where we can stop in and eat. Thank you for reading and enjoy.

Went into the store and it smelled like bacon. Great start. First item on the menu, BLT. It was meant to be. Grinder was great, price was reasonable, staff was good. I do recommend.

Great grinders, made to order with lots of choices, & generous with the ingredients. Beats that national sub chain hands down.
I try to bring a little shaker of Italian spices for that extra touch.
Worth figuring out how to navigate the quirky parking lot.

Food here is great and I have been ordering grinders since I was young but I’m sorry, as of 2025 the new management and employees have made me make this review. I don’t normally give reviews but this one has to be done. 2nd time now I got a grinder that wasn’t correct at all but this time specifically my 7 year old bit into his grinder and thank God it wasn’t a big bite because instead of finding pickles he found a TON of jalapenos. So 5 star for the yummy food all these years but 2 star for everything else!

Gougers subs are the best in town! Originally from an Italian neighborhood in PA and the subs from Gougers rival the best from our home town. Seriously wish I would’ve discovered this place sooner! Great prices, fully loaded subs and friendly service are worth coming back when we come to town for a re-supply!

Been here a handful of times when I’m Brattleboro. Their grinder (I’m in New England, right?) isn’t phenomenal but it’s kinda great. I’ve settled on the very tasty Italian sub but I’m sure there are some really good hot ones w melted cheese. Tons of great add ons. I invented a pro tip that really worked for me: – ask the nice counterman to slice it into three and wrap them separately. It’s a big sandwich.
Nice people. A year or so ago there was a big washout or some such and they were donating (or perhaps they were paid for this) hundreds of sandwiches to the road crew that was cleaning up the mess
In the fridge you can grab a container of their American chop Suey or beans with salt back to heat up at home. Far from haute cuisine but pretty awesome. Overall a fine old school stop.

Hands down the best place to get a sub or grinder whatever you want to call it all fresh and they have some of the best bread for the sandwich in Brattleboro I think

Came here on a hot day on an overtime shift looking for something to hold me over. Turns out this might be the best sub shop in Brat. You’ll never find fresher food at any big chain sandwhich shop.
