We have been going here for 20 plus years to celebrate family birthdays and special occasions. The Service and food are always great. The staff can be hit or miss and they probably should do a remodel soon. They were fine with me bringing my service dog. Absolutely no issues.

The food was rather dull, the appetizers would probably be good if they were actually served hot. Since the food came cold and the waiter didn’t check on it, I’d have to say that the service was definitely lacking. Small things like no sugar for tea, to The hibachi which was definitely not flavorful. Okay show for the cooking portion.

Got a take out order since we were traveling with a dog so could not dine in with the weather so cold. The in-restaurant experience looked to be really good. The staff during the pickup process was friendly and helpful . The sushi was excellent. A vegetable platter side dish was good. Unfortunately the seafood platter we ordered was way too salty- it seemed to have double or even triple the salt that it should have had. This seafood dish was also very expensive at almost $41. We expected more seafood in it- but it was mostly noodles. Between this and the salt content we would not order it again.

I came here with my dining companion and got hibachi with 2 drinks each and ginger ice cream for dessert. I haven’t been here in 2 decades+ but the quality of food and service are still top notch. The waitress was pleasant and made sure we got our drinks before last call. The hibachi chef was skilled and wonderful at reaching out to the diners. I could not asked for a better meal. For the hibachi meal, we were given soup, salad, noodles, mushrooms and I ordered the filet mignon while my dining companion ordered chicken. We were able to share thanks to the chef being very accommodating. The white sauce and ginger sauce were also A+ delicious. I’ll definitely be back! Thanks Goten of Japan! Please excuse the lack of pictures other than the soup because by the time I remembered to take pictures, I already finished eating because the food was so good!

Different experience than Osaka or Benihana, but not necessarily a bad thing. Food portions were decent for most, but don’t get any lobster. Those portions are tiny for the price.

Could someone please explain to me what is the point of making reservations at this place? I understand that their lifeblood is the student business. But if you are a couple who just wants to be able to eat, do not bother coming here during the school year. You will spend more time in the bar waiting than you will actually eating. Bottom line, avoid this restaurant at all costs except during the summer.

Great sushi place in Sunderland. We’ve been here twice now. The fish is fresh, the rolls are delicious and it’s presented beautifully. It’s nice to find good sushi in Westwrn Massachusetts.
