Reviews
My friends and I were in the area grocery shopping and looked for a nearby Korean BBQ. This place showed good pictures, decent reviews, and a lunch price of $22 on the website — so we decided to give it a try. Big mistake!!
When we arrived, the restaurant looked quiet — we were the only table there during lunch hour, which should’ve been our first warning sign. The place felt empty and a little run-down, but we still decided to give it a chance since the online photos looked nice.
Once seated, the server handed us the menu, and it said $24 for lunch, not $22 as advertised online. We figured maybe they just hadn’t updated the website yet, so we let it slide. We ordered some appetizers and meat and went to wash our hands while waiting. That’s when we noticed the bathroom smelled awful — dirty and unpleasant, which already gave us a bad feeling about the place.
It took over 20 minutes for the first set of meat to come out — and remember, we were the only customers there! The meat quality was terrible: the beef tongue was thick, frozen-burned, and inedible; other meats were oily, beefy-tasting, and clearly low grade. We couldn’t even finish what we ordered.
When we went to pay, the total was $86.61 for 3 people. I asked why, since $24 per person plus tax should be about $78. The server said they charged extra because we didn’t finish the food! That’s ridiculous — the meat was bad quality and impossible to eat! Then she said it was actually $24.96 per person, not $24, which was never shown anywhere. On top of that, she added a 4% credit card fee without mentioning it beforehand.
At that point, we just decided to pay with cash anyway, but honestly, we didn’t even want to wait for the receipt — we just wanted to get out of there.
This place is unacceptable and misleading — charging more than advertised and adding surprise fees without notice.
Bad food, bad service, and dishonest pricing.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place, no matter how good the pictures or reviews look.
However, they really need to buy something legitimate to measure children’s height, and this should be done before we sit down so families know if their kids are free to eat or not. 40inches or under is free. We finished our food, and the server brought out her measuring tape to measure our kids. Just doesn’t look that professional.
We felt the restaurant was nice, and clean. And the bathrooms were clean too. We came right when the restaurant opened, so maybe that’s why.
When we paid our bill, we were 2 families that just wanted to split the bill in half. They have a tablet and I questioned the server about the bill as the total with automatic gratuity (parties of 5 or more) was less. She said it was correct and my card was charged.
The following day, I see an additional charge on my credit card from Gosu. They realized their mistake. It’s upsetting for an establishment to charge your card the day after when it was their mistake and to do this charge without contacting you. I called Gosu to confirm, and instead of apologizing for their mistake, it was “server was suppose to do this, so we charged your card.”
This is upsetting as we had a good experience. But the way the issue was mattered, kind of upsetting. It just doesn’t seem right for an establishment to charge your card later when we questioned the bill in the first place.
1.) it wasn’t saturated or overly sweet and keeping it marinated causes the meat to get super mealy. They just placed the marinade over the fresh meat, which was super smart!
2.) the dressing was a perfectly balanced ratio of ginger, onion, and garlic. Also they loaded up on the black pepper which I love.
We ordered the beef belly, super fatty, and fresh. The galbi was pretty good too. The kimchi was EXCELLENT. Cucumber and banchan assortment was the best because you can pick and choose whichever instead of the fixed staples you find elsewhere. The fact that our lunch was all you can eat for 24$ for all that amazing flavor, I mean come on. The service was perfectly timed, not too much waiting. Our guy was efficient and super friendly. This menu came with a cute rice option, get the kimchi rice and egg – comes in a tin, just like your mom made if she were Korean and actually loved you.
was absolutely amazing. Their food is so good. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. The guy at the counter was so nice. Super super nice. Probably one of the best Experiences, I’ve had placing a takeout order.Definitely , five stars wish I could give it more.
We loved the pickled Daikon radish. It comes sliced thin and you can throw it on the grill. Definitely try that.
I would say definitely try the bulgogi beef and the bulgogi lamb. The beef is tougher and fattier and the lamb is very tender.
The bulgogi beef and chicken have great flavors.
The home made sauces were lovely. The bulgogi beef was a personal favorite. Will be returning before my trip ends!
