The view of the inlet is vet enjoyable while watching marine traffic pass by. Pricy and fresh: $32 fish and chips, $18 drinks. You are paying for the view. The server was un-engaging, but not rude. Worth a return visit.

Keep Topside our local treasure! This is one of our most favorite restaurants in all of Montauk! So many delicious baked clams and margaritas have been shared among friends and family here! When my husband and I got married in Montauk, we created a map of our most beloved places to encourage our guests to visit, and Topside was undoubtedly one of them. We have been coming to the top side for many years as it is an institution in Montauk. Many changes have occurred and the Gosman family has kept a good part of the character that makes Montauk special. The addition of the Bagatellle restaurant is great for those that want to spend several thousand dollars on a meal. If you change the feeling at top side, you will lose the character of Montauk and it’s wonderful surroundings. Please don’t do that. Special people like Julie and Chris have made this a great spot. Please carry on in that tradition and don’t make it totally out of reach for many of us. Thank you!

I’m so glad the old school spirit of Gosman’s is kept alive somewhere even with all these recent changes. The most beautiful spot to come for dinner for a drink or lowkey meal and such a kind and fun loving staff. Kenny the bartender took great care of us at the kind man (manager maybe?!) at the front took the BEST photo of my best friend and I will solidified a perfect girls day!

We had an amazing dinner. We received a gift from my husband’s sister and originally thought it was for the new restaurant Bagatelle. We looked at the menu and we were disappointed to see it was a French restaurant. Luckily, it turned out that our gift certificate was for Topside. The manager Kate couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had a lovely conversation with her. Our waitress Jana was amazing. She was so friendly and attentive. She treated us as if we were the only guests in the restaurant. I would highly recommend the lobster caprese. The presentation was beautiful and they certainly didn’t skimp on the lobster. The same for the lobster tacos. My husband had the mussels in a creamy wine sauce along with the steak which was cooked perfectly. It was a perfect anniversary dinner. We will be back again next year.

Topside is the treasure of Montauk and Julie the bartender is the shining jewel. The service is always nice and friendly with exceptional food. The low key vibe makes it feel extra authentic to Montauk. Never miss an opportunity to go.
