Atmosphere is really nice and the restaurant is really clean in a very unique setting that maintains its historic charm. Service was okay, we stood for a few waiting to be seated and then waited a few more waiting to be served. The server did explain that shift change was happening and we were in no rush so it didn’t bother us at all. Deviled eggs were amazing and so was the chicken salad. The fries were delicious and cooked perfectly. The fried chicken was a little salty for my taste and my daughter had the same issue with the chicken sandwich. Overall good experience and will definitely eat there again to try one of the burgers.

I ordered the chicken salad dish on my most recent visit in February 2026. It came out with a huge portion of chicken salad served on a lettuce leaf accompanied by fruit, crackers, and cheese on a super cute wooden board. I enjoyed it and my picky kids liked it as well. We enjoyed the visit. Staff was talking about how they were short people. I noticed the manager was there but apparently he left without helping the staff. That’s the kind of stuff that gets a placed closed down when they cannot adequately serve people. Our waitress was amazing, friendly, and on point with things.

The double Smashburger w/ cheese was fresh tasting, cooked and constructed perfectly. Not too big but plenty for me with the potato wedges, which I liked a lot more than I expected to. Really good. My wife’s fried chicken and sides were on point as always.

As a person with Celiac, I would not recommend this place. The wait staff was unknowledgeable about gluten free options. No GF bread. No separate frier. Only GF option is salad, but ranch dressing had beer in it (not GF). On the flip side, my husband (not GF) said it was some of the best fried chicken, potato wedges and Mac and cheese he’s had in a long time.

We were driving through town and saw the ice house stopped to get lunch/ dinner We got appetizers Cheese Curls Comes with hot honey and pretzel bites cheese dip both were pretty good. Kid 1 got chicken leg & kid 2 got chicken nuggets. We all got two-piece white chicken. Me and wife got dinner biscuit not very good. daughter got a. Dinner roll wish I got the dinner roll nobody like the potato wedges they were cooked good just nobody likes them waitress was very nice in the atmosphere was very nice I got the coleslaw was good it was a little pricey overall it was pretty good

We made a drive down to the restaurant on the recommendation of a relative and it was a great experience. While busy, it wasn’t crowded and we were able to get a table right away. We stuck with chicken options. I had the 4-piece boat (4 pieces of chicken, potato wedges, and I went with the Nashville hot sauce) and my wife had the chicken sandwich with potato wedges.
The chicken is cooked just right. Well seasoned, juicy, crispy, not oily. The wedges are thick pieces of potato… Like a cross between what you’d expect as wedges and deep-fried baked potato pieces. Hot sauce was spicy, but not overly so.
Staff is friendly and attentive.
I’d say the one downside was having gone back multiple times since, it seems the “boat” options are gone, so now you need to order the platter. While the food is good, it’s more sides and extras than I’d like.

This was our first trip to the ice house. The deviled eggs were to die for, don’t sleep on those! The fried chicken was literal perfection and the potato wedges and the other sides were amazing as well. Exceptional service and the sweet tea was perfect!

My coworker recommended this place and swore that the chicken was amazing. I’m not sure if it was the timing or if I’m a food snob but the overall the food was decent. Crown Fried Chicken in urban neighborhoods taste better than this (not to include the price point). The price was a bit more than I expected but the presentation was spot on. The packaging was unique and boutique-ish. The venue was large , indoors was bright and clean. Tons of parking in the rear. I asked for hot honey with my chicken but didn’t taste it or get any on the side. I was en route to a 2 hour destination so I had to enjoy my meal in the car. The deviled eggs with bacon were tasty and the chicken was not as piping hot as I wanted it to be. I feel that this place is geared towards the local crowd of regulars. Based on the breading of the chicken, it felt like that it was reheated as opposed to freshly made. I could be totally wrong though. Anywho….the coleslaw was good. Would I return? Probably not but if you’re an out of towner and looking for a quick meal that’s decent, get it to go.

The Ice House is an absolute gem. The food was delicious and the service was truly top notch. We loved everything we ordered, but the chicken dishes really stood out. The buffalo chicken sandwich especially was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, definitely one of the best we have had.
What made the experience even better was learning about the history of the building. It was so neat to find out it used to be an indoor movie theater, and you can still see the ladder and area where the projector once was. We were also surprised to hear it had once been used as a vehicle service center. That kind of character adds such a cool vibe to the place.
The food was excellent across the board and we genuinely loved it here. If you are in the area, The Ice House is a must visit.
