This place is absolutely delicious and has awesome customer service! We’ve been to several of their locations and all of the food has the same amazing flavor and consistency!

Their menudo is so delicious and probably the best I’ve had at a restaurant! It is made fresh daily, full of flavor, very clean, and not greasy! Their homemade tortillas and gorditas are so good, too! As a starter, they serve you chips with a side of chorizo beans, and salsa that are delicious! Their food is definitely worth the price! I highly recommend this place! You must give them a try, you won’t regret it!

A beautifully decorated restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. There seemed to be maybe three servers, cashiers, and food prep. They were very busy and probably working out some quirks. The server was very helpful in trying to order. I will say this, when we return we will probably get it to go only because, the drinks, which we usually drink water killed our bill, over $9 on drinks alone. We did enjoy the beans (with chorizo?), chips and two different sauces. The food recommendations were great too!

Great breakfast tacos and gorditas! I’ve tried their other locations, and this one is just as good. The ambiance is super nice — you can tell they really invested in the decor. It’s clean, modern, and very aesthetic.

Their menudo was also delicious! It tastes fresh and clean, not greasy at all, and the handmade tortillas are a perfect touch. Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and the food quality is consistently great. Definitely worth a visit! ✨

The first time my family and I dined here, we had a great experience. The food was delicious, made to order, and served quickly, so I was excited to come back.

This time I placed a pickup order, and it was ready when we arrived, which I appreciated. However, when I got home and opened my plate, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken tacos a la plancha with creamy chipotle, but the tacos were bone-dry, and unfortunately one of them even had a hair inside.

I drove back to the restaurant to let them know what happened. The staff member offered to remake the order, which I agreed to, but the interaction felt dismissive. I had to drive back, wait again for my food, and there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience.

Mistakes can happen anywhere, but good customer service can make a big difference in how those situations are handled. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration because my first experience here was great, and I’d like to see them maintain that standard.

Best menudo in the valley! We order pork green and red gorditas and barbacoa taco. Everything was delicious, friendly staff, clean place, and great variety of food. I’ll be here every weekend.

This Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is super delicious and packed with authentic flavor. They serve excellent plates that are incredibly generous—the portions are huge, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. If you’re looking for a great meal where you get your money’s worth, this is the place to go!”

I usually do not leave bad reviews as I prefer to remain courteous of smaller businesses. However, this “Mexican food” is probably one of the worst in the RGV, slight quotations on “Mexican”, heavy quotations on “””food”””. My family ordered four items: enchiladas con queso fresco y pollo, sopes (con chicharrones en salsa verde), flautas de pollo, y una horchata. Now, I am no Spanish linguistical expert, but I am quite sure “enchilada” means “covered in SAUCE”, which these contained no trace of. I could eat the sands of the Mojave and Chihuahua deserts, and they would still have more moisture and flavor than these enchiladas.

I have no comment on the sopes, as my brother was the one who ate them, but let me tell you about the flautas. I opened these as soon as I got them, and I was frankly quite insulted by the size of these. Three measly naked flautas next to a bed of potatoes, accompanied by a container of frijoles refritos con queso fresco. What do I have to top my flautas with? A little bag of crema? That’s all? I tore it open and as I put it on my flauta it looked like someone had done unspeakable things to it.

I thought the frijoles refritos would be the saving grace of this meal. But I was WRONG. Eating chalk would have been a more flavorful experience. And don’t get me started on the potatoes… They were still uncooked in the middle, with NO flavor.

The only redeeming part of this experience was the horchata to cleanse my appetite of these horrid creations. I noticed on the cup it read “Gordita pero sabrosa.” I could not think of a worse slogan for this establishment. This place has NO flavor; and NOBODY will be getting fat off of this food. I say all this as someone who is the very OPPOSITE of a picky eater. So everybody in da RGV, be warned. Do NOT come to El Chilito.
