While looking for a new mexican restaurant in the area, we stumbled across this gordita spot and it was incredible. We unknowingly came in on $1 wednesday tacos so it was super busy but the service was still very good. The food was all hot and delicous.

They accommodated our large party and the server and food was amazing. The Agua Fresca (cucumber lime), the calabacita gordita, the steak taco mmmm. The kids had the steak quesadillas and it was the size of their face. Would definitely come back and try the other Gorditas. Thank you!

This is a GREAT hidden gem in West Chicago. The entry to this homesytle restaurant is situated between two bigger buildings, but don’t let that steer you away from trying out their food. The atmosphere reminds me of growing up in Texas and finding grub at the local taqueria. Fresh Aqua Frescas, fresh tortillas, fresh salsas… just the way it should be. They have a list of 20ish gorditas on their menu, but for me, I like their tacos and burritos. The tacos are FILLED with your choice of steak or al pastor so naturally I ordered both. The Al Pastor has the expected sweet pineapple acidity and rich pork flavors. The steak hits your umami palette with a frenzy of crave-ability. The real stunner was the burrito. A cheese roll up with potato and shredded beef in a green sauce. Spicy, tangy, hearty, salty. It was gone in 3 bites but I am already planning my next visit to have 10000 more. Check this place out!

This little gem in West Chicago has the typical Mexican food that everyone loves! The menu is not extensive but what they offer is of great quality and inexpensive. They have the best Gorditas, quesadillas, tacos. But what I am always amazed about the attention staff has to cleanliness! The restaurant is spotless and the kitchen super super clean!

My new favorite legit Mexican restaurant! The gorditas on hand made corn tortillas are amazing! I also had the “burrito deshebrada verde con mayonesa”. It was absolutely delicious. The girl who took my order told me it’s her favorite and that she eats one everyday. Cash only, but they have a ATM inside.

Zero dust. Clean floor,bathrooms, and tables.
Plates are not garnished to fool the consumer.
They are not greasy, full of flavor.
I am the number one complainer in the world!
I cannot complain about a delicious clean quesadilla.
Anyone “ can” melt cheese. Not everyone can execute a perfect quesadilla and Gordita!

When I first arrived no one greeted me or even instructed me on how to order so I proceeded to wait in line for 10 minutes only to find out I had to first sit down then they can take my order. We went to sit in the outside patio as the inside was full, we went outside at the same time as another group. Servers only came to serve and take the orders of the other group while they made us wait. Then after 15 minutes of waiting to get even just a greeting and our order taken a third group came outside to sit down and they were then served ahead of us while we still waited. At the very end after waiting 35 minutes and seeing the other 2 groups get their food we finally decided that was enough and got up to leave since we never even had a server come up to our table to say hi. I will also add that not once was I greeted or even had one of the workers look in my direction, once I finally got a chance to talk to one of them she gave me so much attitude. Never going back!

I had a good overall experience. The food was fantastic, I tried about 5 different Gorditas and I liked them all. A lot of choices and everything tastes great. Our server was also good and helped us pick items to try. Will definitely be back in the future.

If you’ve got a craving for tacos to satiate this is the place for you. I live all the way in the downtown area, and it was so worth the ride over here for these tacos. They are the freshest and most reasonably priced tacos I’ve seen in a long time and these tortillas are loaded!!!
This isn’t your average hole in the wall taqeria, there is a lot of space and natural lighting in the place so you don’t feel smashed in and it’s a very welcoming vibe.
The Horchata is also yummy and fresh made. I got to talk to staff and was told the location is relatively new and to be honest I think this place is a gem. The staff was also super kind and nice, my waitress even asked what color straw I wanted. I know that sounds small and weird but it was probably the cherry on top of my experience.
