The Grilled Rib Eye was huge, served with a flavorful pat of butter on top. The side dish was a whole roasted sweet potato, which was soft and naturally sweet. We also ordered a fried seafood platter, which came with crispy scallops, shrimp, clams, and fish, paired with garlic mashed potatoesso tasty!
The service was outstanding. Our server Anne was incredibly warm and enthusiastic. She suggested toppings and pairings and clearly had a genuine love for the place. We’re already thinking of coming back again during this trip.
While deciding whether to stay or leave, the hostess called our name, sat us and we ordered drinks. I asked the server to have the bartender add grenadine to my pomegranate lemon drop. When the drink arrived, the color was off and it tasted like straight liquor with no mixers. I told the server it was way too strong and needed something sweeter like simple syrup. Instead, he brought me a shot of grenadine, which made no sense since grenadine should have already been in the drink. It still tasted like nothing but alcohol — no pomegranate or lemon flavor at all.
I had my mom and friend try it and both agreed it was extremely strong and undrinkable. When the server returned, he did not take the drink away. It sat on the table untouched the entire time even after I clearly said I couldn’t drink it.
When it came time to order, I ordered chicken marsala with a choice of starch. I asked what pasta options were available and was told angel hair, linguine, or penne. I chose plain angel hair with butter on the side and also selected a vegetable.
My meal arrived with no plain pasta at all. When I asked about it, the server said the dish doesn’t come with pasta because it’s not a pasta entrée. I reminded him he told me I could order a side of plain angel hair with butter. He then said he could do angel hair with red sauce for an extra charge. I again specified plain pasta with butter only.
Someone else later brought a pasta dish that was not angel hair and was covered in some kind of sauce, along with mushrooms that were not fully cooked. I told the server this was not what I ordered and that it wasn’t even the correct pasta. His response was, “Oh well, they’re all the same anyway. Pasta is just pasta!” and he laughed.
No, pasta is not “all the same,” and that response was rude and dismissive.
I work in the restaurant industry myself and I am usually a very good tipper, but this was hands-down the worst service I have ever experienced. We will never return and I do not recommend this place to anyone. The entire experience was ruined by one specific server, and management did nothing to correct the situation. On top of everything else, I was still charged for a drink that sat on the table untouched.
Food was very good but meat was barely pink while we both ordered medium rare.
Service was great.
Unfortunately, it just wasn’t worth it.
The prime rib was bland and flavorless, the clam chowder was watery, and their so-called “award-winning” portobello mushrooms were a total miss. Honestly, I’d love to know who gave them that award. Both the stuffed and baked haddock were dry and forgettable.
The only thing that was even remotely decent was the pork ribeye—it was cooked well and had some actual flavor. But one decent dish doesn’t make up for an otherwise disappointing meal.
If you’re looking for great seafood or steak in the area, I’d keep looking, or cook your own.
They weren’t wrong! The 14oz ribeye was UNBELIEVABLE and the staff were incredibly attentive from finding us a table on a busy Saturday evening on Labor Day Weekend to the service they provided.
If you read any mediocre reviews about this place, just ignore them, honestly, it was great food, great service and original and eclectic sports bar interiors ( none of that fake nonsense).
Oh yes, my son described his steak as the best he’d ever eaten !
