The dishes were beautifully presented as in the picture. The banchan was good as well. But the taste of the bulgogi hotpot is just awfully sweet. It deserves 1 star. I give 2 stars just because a staff tried to add some broth, but at the end can’t save a deadly sweet soup.
P/s: the pork belly is…ok. Maybe my bad luck ordered wrong dishes.

Gopchang Story Boston has quickly become one of my favorite spots for Korean BBQ. I’ve already come twice, and both visits were consistently amazing. The gopchang is rich and flavorful with that perfect crispy texture on the grill, and the side dishes complement everything really well. The staff is super attentive, helpful with cooking, and keep the experience fun without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is lively, making it a great spot to go with friends. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality and overall experience make it absolutely worth it. I’m already looking forward to coming back again.

Went to Gopchang Story Boston and tried the assorted gui, fried rice, and rice cake. The assorted gui was flavorful and nicely grilled, and the portion was good for sharing. The fried rice at the end was tasty and had great texture, and the rice cake was chewy and satisfying.

I decided to try this Korean restaurant after seeing many recommendations on Xiaohongshu. The food was just okay — not impressive considering the price.
When it came time to pay, the server preset the tip at 20% on the handheld POS system, which felt a bit pushy. After checking the receipt, I noticed that the tip was calculated based on the post-tax total, which was disappointing.
Overall, the dining experience didn’t live up to the hype, and I’m still not sure why this place is so popular.

A little on the pricey side, but totally worth it! The portion was huge, and the Fatty Brisket Spicy Stew was amazing. I’m so glad I decided to try it. It comes with daechang (large intestine), which is my favorite, along with tender beef brisket and glass noodles in a rich, flavorful spicy broth. I ordered it for pickup, and they made it fresh when I arrived. The gentleman at the front was very kind and helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food was great. The staff cooked the intestines for you, and made sure that it was cooked to your liking. The intestines had a great flavor to it, almost buttery tasting after cooked. The kimchi stew was a bit sour, but still tasted great.
Atmosphere was a bit dark because of the lighting, but overall was a nice environment.

We visited Gochang just a few minutes before it opened. The kimchi pork belly was flavorful, but it became overly salty as the pot continued to boil. The seafood pancake, on the other hand, was excellent, packed with a generous variety of ingredients, making it thick and hearty, rather than just flour-based.
The fried rice is not recommended, it was extremely salty. I could only take one bite.
Overall, not bad. But If there’s a wait of over 30 minutes, I wouldn’t consider it worth it. My suggestion is to arrive early, just before the restaurant opens, to avoid the wait.

Most of the workers weren’t korean… 17 dollars brisket jjigae wasnt good at all. Brisket was hard(?). We ordered assorted gopchang. The way they cooked it (almost like stirfried not bbqed..), it burnt a lot of meats and unevenly cooked…. personally like how they cook it in new york. More organized. Dont think ill go back.

Overall: I had mixed feelings for the food but maybe it was just because I didn’t know how to appreciate them. However, the service need to improve more and the whole experience was awful. Won’t visit here again.

Spicy crabs: this dish tasted ok. It was probably too spicy for a person who can only tolerate mild spicy. Personally I think it was a bit inconvenient to give only one glove per person to eat the crabs.
Assorted intestines: first of all, I usually love intestines especially the braised ones. So maybe I just can’t appreciate the intestines here, the taste was too strong, and the large intestines were just too fat for me. To be honest, me and my friends can hardly finish the whole thing.
Bulgogi hotpot: this one tasted ok, my honest feeling was that this tasted like a regular sukiyaki, nothing special. Yet it cost $38.95, it’s a bit pricy for me, but the meat quality was not bad so maybe the price had its own reason.
Kimchi cold noodles: I really like this dish, I think it might be one of the best cold noodles I have in Boston, but this is just my personal opinion. It was not spicy at all and I really like the hint of umami from the seaweed.
Service:
The first waiter was impatient and kind of rude. The second waiter was better, we really appreciated that he was more polite and had more patience to take our orders. However, it felt ridiculous that we had been waiting for our cold noodles for almost two hours!! We had asked 3-4 different waiters and they keep saying they were still making it. I understand maybe they were short staffed, but two hours for a cold noodles??? I can’t believe it. Also, I overheard the table next to us got free drinks because their drinks were taking too long…I was speechless at the moment
Parking: good, free street parking

We tried the assorted intestines BBQ, small size—more than enough. The large intestine dominated, overly oily and hard to enjoy. The stewed intestine dish was even more disappointing. Despite the menu promising small intestines, it was half-filled with large ones, poorly cooked and tough to finish. Overall, the dishes felt heavy and unbalanced. Proceed with caution if you’re not a fan of large intestines.
