Called at 8:00 PM and ordered ahead. I was asked what time I’d be there since they close at 9 PM. I said 10 minutes and was told the food would be ready. I arrived at 8:11 PM and didn’t leave until 8:32 PM. the food was not ready.

The food was disappointing. Jerk chicken was dry. Rice and peas were dry. The pepper steak was mostly big chunks of green peppers and onions with very little steak. Paid $44 for two entrées, which was not worth it.

Between the wait and the food quality, this was a letdown.

The wait was unbearable, and still missed items in my order, had to come back and wait more (total of an hour and a half). The food is good, but for coming across town and having to wait that long, i don’t think this experience made it worth it for me. If you don’t mind waiting an extremely long time for your food (even when called in, bc some ppl there called in advanced and still was waiting), or don’t mind a long time to get the grocery side weighed for items (people waited like 10 to 15 minutes on that too), then by all means go there. I wouldn’t mind giving another shot, but maybe when they hire more people or I send someone else to pick it up for me.

I went there yesterday after work and I have to say absolutely everything was delicious me and my family throughly enjoyed everything; I wish I didn’t live so far from the restaurant because I would be a regular diner there but even still I make effort to go occasionally and each time I’m impressed. If you want good home cooked African and Caribbean food please check this place out. I ordered Curry Goat, Oxtail, Jollof rice, Egusi, Fufu, Plantains, Red beans & Rice, Fried Tilapia (photo below)

Everything is delicious, a WONDERFUL opportunity to try something new or do something different. There aren’t (or I haven’t been able to find a lot of) African food spots in general so to have a place and the food is like right out my Mommas kitchen!! Not only is the food AMAZING the service; the service is also top-tier!!! (You should have some idea of what you want, yes) However, these are people who will even help you sort out the menu and figure out what would be best. I can go on and on. Take some time and try any if not everything on the menu, THEY WILL NOT DISAPPOINT and YOU WILL NOT REGRET!

Delicious and assorted African and Jamaican dishes (eat-in and take-out) with delivery services within 10mi. Grocery shop + live band music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. I really enjoyed my time here

The lady at the counter looks like she doesn’t care. Maybe she is just the employee, and definitely, the owner has to pay attention and would not recommend it from my first experience

I ordered the Oxtails, jolloff rice, plantains and cabbage… it did not disappoint! From the tender meat and perfectly cooked rice it was a welcomed experience! Solomon even went and got me some ice for my drink! The waiter was great and even took the time to demonstrate to my dinner partner how to properly cleanse her hands and enjoy her Fudu and egusi soup!! The whole atmosphere was welcoming and I’ll will be back!!

I just want to say that I knew what to expect by reading the previous reviews. I called my order in ahead of time, the caller said my food should be ready in 20 minutes, I came in 30 minutes. There was a line, or what I assumed was a line, but I guess people just walk in and say what they want, I am unsure, but I know, I perceived that I waited in a line. I was waiting for like 10 minutes before I informed the cashier that I called my order in and what it was. Someone else has been waiting an hour for their food and it wasn’t done. My food was done. I noticed the one tray worth of food and was kind of upset, until I got home and realized that they filled my tray up to the top with food. I was happy for that and the food was under $14. I tasted the food and everything was immaculate. Like I wanted to eat it all in one sitting but got full after eating a third of it with my son. I was so happy to warm it up and eat it again the following day.

I will say that you should order from this restaurant because the food is really delicious, but just don’t have any plans soon after, there’s no telling how long you will wait. Do not be in a hurry once you place this order, have the utmost time to spare.

Good customer service too, the cashier was kind.

This place could probably get 5 stars but today was my first time going. I ordered the jollof rice with goat and they gave way too much rice and only two pieces of the goat meat. I waited about 45 minutes which isn’t bad as long as the food is on point. I’ll try it again.

The forest was amazing, and most of all granted the wait. The people that work there were courteous and worth the patience to enjoy the food. So if you order make sure you have time, cause it’s obvious they make their dishes fresh, and put their all into what they make.
