Great place to grab a bite. Full blast of local character. Best scrapple this side of the river. They have wifi and a phone charging station. Hikers are especially welcome.

Small local diner that serves up great food. They take only cash but have an ATM on site. The food is good and comes in large portions, and is decidedly reasonable. We went with the pancakes and french toast – both excellent and lunch may not be required! Definitely recommend!

Stopped in after a night at the Doyle for a takeout breakfast sandwich before hiking for the day. Great bacon eggs and cheese on an English muffin. Good coffee and great people.

Hiking and went there within business hours, place was closed no signs no nothing. Heard from a passing hiker, few days back that when they went to this restaurant half the things he tried to order, they were out of.
I love that duncannon is catering more to the hikers. But this is bad business practice in genral. Please get your crap together goodies and take some constructive criticism.
Duncannon is really moving up in the world of hikers and you guys should be one of the main reasons.

We have never been here before. I cant tell you how the food was because I never got to order. When I came in there were the man working and 3 people he was having a conversation with at the counter. 2 of which left, and another man came in right behind us, sat at the counter, got to order his food, got to eat his food and left while we STILL continued to sit there and be ignored because the man working wanted to talk to the girl sitting at the counter about his travels. Mean while we still are hungry. So we decide we are leaving, I learn the girl at the counter is sitting close to the kitchen holding her PUPPY. Deff wasn’t a service dog, I deff feel allowing a dog in the resturant sitting that close ( literally right next.tp the kitchen thay has no door) to the food is absolutely GROSS.

I will say when we went to pay for the coffee he didn’t charge us, why because he knew he was wrong.

Quaint little place, took 40 minutes to get our food. There were 10 other people in the restaurant. Asked 2x for lemons for my water, never received them. I got the Goodies Mess, and it was mostly potatoes. There were a few onions and a ton of peppers. It’s not worth the price, but I like to try new places and give small businesses a chance first.

Visited Duncannon as a hiker, which often gives mixed results, even in a hiker town. Love their home style breakfasts.

Enjoyed the counter fir meeting locals while dining. The booths were comfortable engaging other hiker friends. There’s plenty of seating, even for private conversations.

Once the staff warms up to you…its just like being home. That’s a nice feeling, when you actually live several hundred miles away. This is definitely my kind of place.

So we got breakfast and it took an hour to get food. The order came out missing a plate in our group. The French toast was amazing but that’s where it ended. My “over medium” eggs came out and the whites were clear liquid. Completely raw. The hash browns could use come help too.
Will not be returning.
Service was friendly though.

Coffee is really bad. Cheap watered down ketchup. No music or atmosphere. But food isn’t bad. It’s hard to screw up an egg. Crispy home fries are really good. Ask for deep fry.
