AMAZING food. Nothing like a cafe: a bar, darker lighting, burgers etc. but still great. Wouldn’t say this is exactly kid friendly, a lot of adults smoking.
This is a restaurant that people drive by not thinking about how great this place is. It’s hidden in plain sight and underrated. Nonetheless, this is a great place I’m definitely going to come back to! (The cheeseburger was so good I ordered another one to-go)

Rún Ó Séachnasaigh (S33KR)
Great local spot. VERY good burger and onion rings. Friendly attentive staff. Reasonable prices. Easy access and adequate off-street parking. Not specifically ADA compliant but those with different abilities should have no trouble. Skip the fast food and give this a try if you’re on US11 traveling around Buchanan VA.
Approximately 500 metres from the proper “downtown” area of Buchanan, on the S. side of the James River. Directly on US11. Kind of a roadhouse or American pub atmosphere, classic rock on the house speakers, couple of TVs, pool table and darts. Outside seating seems available. Beer and simple alcohol served. Looks like it closes around 10pm (2200) weeknights. Not crowded. I got an excellent cheeseburger, real battered onion rings, and a coke for just under $12. Veggies on the burger were fresh and crisp, rings cooked to order (not from a hot line or tray). Burger was real fresh beef, not a frozen pattie thing. Old neon signs, simple roadhouse seating and decor. Not too noisy. Meal was filling and quick to arrive. Might want to leave the kiddos though, as it is somewhat bar-like and smoking is allowed, but you could avoid this in fair weather by using the outdoor seating. Clean, quality napkins and condiments, don’t expect fancy and you will not be disappointed. I do love places like this.

Small, dark, dingy place. Grouchy bartender/server. My meal was pre-cooked. It was microwaved in styrofoam container & served in a styrofoam container. Food was overcooked, rubbery, vegetables tasted like canned. Popular place for local smoking crowd.

As advertised! Good times. Perfect hole in the wall. Great food. Good people. We found this during a camping trip looking at places to go that were open late. Good times did not disappoint. When our waitress sparked a smoke behind the counter we knew instantly it was about to be some awesome food and “a good time”. The lady immediately helped us and we still talk about that night to this day.
