Really glad to leave a 5 star review for Good Neighbor. We went a few days after opening and had a confusing experience for a table of 5. But went back just last week and sat at the bar (two of us) and had great service from Dev. Drinks were all on point. The food was phenomenal. There was a special potato leek soup which was just lucious and savory. So good! The fritto misto is a must get IMO. Huge serving and so well fried. The lemon aioli is amazing. I got the steak frites and my husband got the pork chop (which I had before and loved). The chop is seriously 2 people’s worth of meat. The broccolini still in my opinion needs work as a side. The steak frites was divine. Seriously. Cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful. The gravy it comes with is out of this world and the frites are awesome too. Can’t wait to come back which is the best endorsement I can give. Cheers.

If you’re looking for a new chill spot with a cozy vibe, Good Neighbor is the place to be. Located conveniently in Downtown Sacramento, this new bar offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel welcome . The decor strikes a perfect balance between modern and vintage, creating a stylish yet comfortable setting.

The drink menu is impressive, featuring a variety of craft cocktails, beers, and wine options. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to recommend drinks.

The staff is attentive and genuinely friendly, which adds to the overall positive experience. Whether you’re popping in after work or catching up with friends, Good Neighbor provides the perfect backdrop for relaxed conversations and good times.

Additionally, the ambiance is lively yet intimate, making it suitable for both casual hangouts and special occasions. It’s a great addition to Sacramento’s nightlife scene.

Overall, Good Neighbor deserves a visit for its excellent drinks, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service. A true gem in Sac that promises a great time.

Good Neighbor is great fit for the Ice Blocks in space that was Beast & Bounty. This is more casual gathering spot. Food was great! Started with pave fries. I had hanger steak & frites perfectly done. My friends had burger & paparedelle. Everyone was happy. Rob Archie does it again like he did at Pangea & Urban Roots

I was very pleasantly surprised by Good Neighbor.
Atmosphere:
Walking in, it is slightly confusing. There’s an entrance from the street and an entrance from the side patio. The entrance from the side patio is where you’ll want to go because it leads you toward the check in counter whereas the entrance from the street will lead you to the bar and when the bartender tried to direct me to the counter, he was rather vague and I couldn’t tell where I was actually supposed to go. The check in counter is located in the back of the restaurant which seems counterintuitive. Eventually, I figured it out, but I wish maybe there was a sign above the check in counter or something that could lead you to it easier. That’s truly my ONLY gripe about this place.
Service: I came in for lunch and the service was quick. I’m unsure how I feel about the cube they put out at the table for service and to pay to make the experience more convenient, but I will say it’s not inconvenient.
Food: The food came out fast and was hot and fresh. I ordered the fritto misto and the mushroom pizza.
Fritto Misto: I’ve never had a fritto misto before, but all I can say is GET IT. The shrimp was juicy, the calamari was perfectly fried and not rubbery, the leeks, olives, lemons, etc were crispy, everything was seasoned to perfection, and nothing on the plate was soggy. The aioli served on the side for dipping is the perfect pairing.
Mushroom pizza: I’ve had my fair share of pizza in downtown sac and this is for sure up there. The crust was baked well and crispy; no burnt or soggy bottoms here. The flavors were rich and reminiscent of french onion soup. Innovative or mindblowing? No, I wouldn’t say so, but it’s certainly delicious and with many local pizza restaurants in sac only specializing in pizza and a few other items, you’d be surprised that this restaurant, with its wide variety in their menu can pull off a pizza that rivals some of the mainstays.

Overall, I left my lunch totally satisfied and excited to eat my leftovers. I’ll definitely be coming back to try some other menu items.

I came to Good Neighbor with a friend for lunch on a Monday. We were seated right away and warmly greeted by our waitress. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing and ensured we had everything we needed.

Since it was our first time, my friend and I decided to splurge, and we ordered a little bit of everything. To start, we ordered the mushroom arancini, Pave fries, and a chopped salad. The mushroom arancini were crispy perfection and full of flavor. The Pave fries were unique and something I had never tried before. And the chopped salad helped to balance our meal with some greens.

For the rest of our meal, we decided to sample a fennel sausage pizza and a wild mushroom pizza. Both had perfectly thin crust that held up well to their toppings.

Despite being sad to see Beast & Bounty go, I am thrilled that something as delicious as Good Neighbor took its place.

I went to dinner with two friends and had a great time here. We each had a good cocktail and then we shared a pizza, salad and two shareables. It was the perfect amount of food for three people. I would say the standouts were the pepperoni pizza and the Caesar salad. My least favorite was the frito misto. The arancini were pretty good too. The one bummer was that sitting close to the kitchen was very hot.

So good!! Ordered the fries and also the pork chops. Probably some of the best I’ve ever had. Service was fantastic too. Walk up to order drinks and apps and then sit down service for everything else. Greg was great and kept checking on us the whole time. They were also aware about what was gluten free or not. Would absolutely recommend!

The aesthetic is beautiful and apparently it’s always bopping for brunch. The host and our rad waitress, Rebecca, were so attentive to us. The special was insane; salmon toast, no notes, 11/10. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Starting with the positives, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. A+ for nice people. The food and atmosphere are the reasons I would not return. Pizza dough was underbaked, cheese was not melted, and it was served cold, which is a cardinal sin. Pizza was $25 for pretty basic ingredients, nothing appearing to highlight the incredible produce grown in Sacramento. Meatballs were fine, but only 3 relatively small pieces for $15. Chopped salad was pretty plain. Mushroom arancini were tasty. In terms of atmosphere, it’s a gorgeous space in a perfect location, but every 10-15 minutes, smoke from the kitchen would overwhelm the dining area and make it unpleasant to breathe. We had to go outside at one point to take a break from it. Coming home, our clothes smelled like smoke from head to toe, and my wife had to wash her hair. It’s hard to tell if they accidentally burned something or if one of the dishes causes this to happen, but I really hope they can fix this issue and work on those pizzas, I hope they survive and thrive, but right now they need some honest feedback.
