The bartender, Griffin, was incredibly welcoming. When it seemed packed and we were about to leave, he noticed and let us know a couple at the bar was getting ready to head out (something he did for a few other groups), showed how much they care about the guests. The ambiance was inviting and the service was top-tier. It genuinely felt like a neighborhood spot where I felt like a regular. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great service and a relaxed, authentic bar experience.

Great selection of natural wine. The White wine flight was fantastic and well varied, the guys behind the bar were talkative, knowledgeable and friendly. Mushrooms on toast were awesome. Could’ve spent a long time here but it was at the end of a day of downpours and walking. Will be back next time we’re in town.

Meander through your tasting journey while having one of their famous hand carved charcuterie platters in a space that is finely detailed in a belle époque style mixing neo-Gothic to classicism, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Not pretentious yet full of class and charm. Outdoor seating is available seasonally. The service is spectacular, knowledgeable and patient. THIS is how you enjoy wine! The ambiance and music is intoxicating however take note they do not take reservations. Start, or end, your adventure at Good Funk.

Sommelier visiting from Austin, TX. Compelling wine program – cannot deny. Service severely lacks warmth. I felt like a massive inconvenience, despite ordering the most expensive flight on the menu. Staff was completely uninviting and bordered on rude. Not sure what I did wrong. Wanted to say something better because this really does have the bones of a great spot. Just lacks hospitality.

Bonhomme does it again. This is hands down my favorite wine bar in the city. The menu is full of the most globally eclectic selection of wines and a beautiful variety of skin contact wines. The interior features a subtle Spanish influence and not a detail has been missed. Mixed patterns and textures, plush velvet bar stools, lush greenery and perfectly dimmed lighting. Funky, vibey, romantic, sexy, smooth, perfection!
The cheese board was 10/10. Service was top notch. Music was on point. If you’re hungry, you can order some dishes from Beatnik next door.
Love that they are open late while everything else in this area closes around 6 or 7.

Visited the good funk with my best friend, we both had an amazing time. Our person Damian not only served us what we ordered but gave us a few tastes of some other unique wine. He answered all my questions about wine from best cheese pairings with a Cabernet. Can’t wait to go back when I’m in Chicago again!

Got dropped off two hours before close just to sit at the bar and watch the bar tender tidy some bottles and then disappear into the back and not return in 10 minutes. From pictures and the menu it looked like it would be a fun place but no return trip needed.

Awful experience! Stopped by for drink and we didn’t care for wine. We politely said, not our fave Happy to pay for it, but would like what we enjoy. He was so offended and mad. Throwing his arms up and dumping it out. He’s like fine. You don’t have to pay for it. He was so angry and making a scene.
Someone else came over and we said, So sorry we didn’t like the glass of wine and we still left money for it. But the server was still carrying on and so offended we didn’t like it. He was challenging us and angry! What does he care. We were still paying, give us what we want. Have been to several high end establishments in the city. We would never get this kind of reaction. Maybe that’s the problem, not so high end. Very awful and strange behavior getting scolded by a bartender!!!
Once again, even after his awful behavior, we left money. Went to another place and of course great service. It was honestly one of the most strange and bad service experiences
