Brunswick — Noodle Shop – Good Days Vietnamese Restaurant

The original Good Days, established in 2016 in the heart of Brunswick on Sydney Road. A bright and modern reimagining of the Vietnamese phở house.

Delicious food with a generous portion!
I had a beef pho and fried chicken while my husband had a tofu steak with rice! We both really enjoyed the food. I would have prefer the sauce for fried chicken to come in a bowl on the side instead of a big plate with 2 chicken wings soak in it.
Lovely ice coffee but the kaffir lime and bitter soda was a bit lack in flavour.

This is one of Melbournes best spots for Pho! ⭐️

@gooddays_vietnamese is located on Sydney Rd in Brunswick and now on Smith St in Collingwood (new!)

They also run their Hot Bread banh mi shop further up Sydney Rd, which turns into @season_chicken_service in the evenings
Established in 2016, this is a bright, modern reimagining of the traditional Vietnamese phở house. The owner spent a year trialling recipes, building on childhood memories of eating phở while drawing inspiration from Japanese ramen techniques and Asian cookbooks.

There’s a strong focus on quality, ethically sourced meat. The menu is small but considered and rarely changes, which makes it reliable. Their 24-hour bone broth is the hero – slowly simmered with bones, vegetables, aromatics and spices, then rested to allow the flavours to fully develop.

Alongside phở, there are house snacks, chicken broken rice and rotating specials like Wednesday’s betel leaf lamb skewers. Each table even has a little manual explaining how to best enjoy your bowl – taste the broth first, dip your protein into chilli oil and hoisin, then add basil, bean shoots and pickled onion to your liking.

⭐️ Black Angus brisket and topside beef phở – one cut slow cooked, the other thinly sliced raw and gently cooked in the rich marrow broth. Generous with coriander and spring onion. Deeply savoury and complex, slightly gamey but in a rich, beefy way.
⭐️ Fried chicken wings – crispy, juicy and served in a sea of zingy chilli glaze.
✔️ House pork and prawn spring rolls – golden and piping hot, wrapped with perilla, mint and butter lettuce for freshness and crunch.

This spot is consistently good. Great for solo diners or a quick weeknight feed. Mostly tables of two, chef’s bar seating, one communal table of eight and limited pet friendly outdoor seating.

Walk ins only. It gets busy – we went on a rainy Monday and it was packed. Best to arrive before 530pm to avoid the line!

Best meditative vegan pho in melbourne!!! ️ ✨
The soup is not intense rather mild and gentle, Herbal. Different textures of Mushrooms in the pho gave me joy and it was so comforting.
The rice noodle seemed to be handmade, Soft and mildly heavy(in a good way) and chewy which I loved.
I will definitely come back while I am here!

Good pho and grilled chicken broken rice. We ordered the chicken pho, beef pho, grilled chicken broken rice. The beef pho was outstanding, very tasty broth with lots of raw vegetables, just like in Vietnam. The grilled chicken was also outstanding. If you take a look at the attached video, you can see the fiery grilling in action that gave it that slight char taste. Will be back again when we come here after Bouldering.

We went to this Vietnamese restaurant in Brunswick that serves pho, salads, snacks, broken rice, and even some Vietnamese beers

✨Beef Pho (AUD 25)
✨Chicken Pho (AUD 25)
✨Noodle Salad with Skewer (AUD 25)

Loved everything we ordered! The pho was amazing, the beef was a mix of black angus brisket and topside, super tender and full of flavour The broth was packed with coriander and spring onion, which really elevated the taste The lemongrass skewer was fragrant and flavourful, though a little dry on its own, definitely better with the sauce

A cosy Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Brunswick, recommended to me by a few friends.
However, I was let down by their recommendation. The pho was average, the portions small and expensive. While the food wasn’t inherently bad, I would not say it was worth the price; most Vietnamese places would offer much cheaper prices for better and larger portions. The saving grace was the amount of meat – probably where the high price came from. The beef was smooth, buttery and soft. However, we would not say the noodles and broth were special.
The restaurant got a pretty full for lunch, so it was good we beat the crowd a bit.

Worth the wait! We came on a Tuesday night and the line was already out the door when we arrived. We’d contemplated abandoning mission but saw other satisfied diners leaving and as a duo were told it shouldn’t be too long a wait. I ordered the tofu broken rice and my sister got the chicken version. We also ordered a side of the mushroom tofu spring rolls. Everything was really satisfying – charcoal grill taste was unique, especially for tofu, salad was fresh – we left as very happy diners. Staff were under pressure but were welcoming and efficient.

Hmm I thought the pho was just ok. The broth did have a lot of depth, but it was overwhelmingly salty and umami dominant. Too much fish sauce for my liking. I missed the warmth of the black cardamom. The noodles and beef were ok, but nothing too memorable. At first I thought the amount of food in the bowl was tiny, but I have to admit I didn’t leave hungry. I wouldn’t rush back for that price. Pho Chu The still reigns supreme for me..
