Great donuts and coffee. Mac n cheese was sad. Not different than pasta and Alfredo sauce. The only flavor in the dish was in the breadcrumbs. We had a couple of sandwiches in our order that were delicious. Mac n cheese recipe needs to be fancied up a bit, with some delicious cheeses.

I just walked out of Good Company Doughnuts in Southwest DC (Waterfront Station at 1000 4th St SW) and I’m still processing how a doughnut shop just served me one of the best burgers I’ve had in the District.

The Burger That Broke My Brain: I ordered the SW Burger on a whim—honestly, I came for doughnuts but stayed for this masterpiece. We’re talking about a thick, juicy 6oz patty cooked to absolute perfection. The moment I lifted the top bun, I knew I was in trouble: fresh crisp lettuce, thick-cut tomato, and perfectly sliced onion that somehow managed to be both sharp and sweet. The bun? Soft yet sturdy enough to handle the whole operation without falling apart (a crime too many burger joints commit).
The Experience: Located right near the waterfront in the Navy Yard area, this spot has that perfect “neighborhood secret” vibe—locally owned, unpretentious, but executing at a level that puts fancy burger bars to shame. The space is bright and welcoming, and despite the name, this isn’t just a doughnut shop slapping together lunch items as an afterthought. There’s serious kitchen craft happening here.
Why You Need to Go NOW: That first bite was an “OMG” moment for real. The patty was seasoned beautifully, with that ideal crust on the outside while staying juicy inside. Everything was fresh, balanced, and made with care. Whether you’re a Waterfront resident, work nearby, or just exploring SW DC, this needs to be your next lunch stop.
Pro tip: Come hungry, because you’ll want to grab one of their fresh doughnuts for dessert (yes, I did the full meal, no regrets).
Bottom line: Skip the burger chains and get to Good Company immediately. Your taste buds will thank you.

The name is accurate. You’ll be in good company with good food, good prices and service. They have great savory sandos & meals along with all the sweet treats.

I really enjoyed our time there.
The vibe was great, and I had an iced latte, which was good.
We also tried their doughnuts; they were a bit too sweet for my taste, but that’s just because I’m not a fan of overly sweet treats.
Overall, a nice place to grab coffee and relax.

It’s also just about a 10-minute walk from Southwest Waterfront Park, which makes it even more convenient!

Really delicious sandwiches. The BLT was amazing. The meat on the cubano was really solid but next time I’d ask for more mustard and pickles.

Awesome donuts and phenomenal customer service! And great feedback on the coffee too! I ordered donuts and coffee for a morning team meeting the night before I flew in to the city. Toast accounted for my time zone in the delivery request, which would have made the donuts late for the meeting. I called before they opened to correct the delivery time and the wonderful morning manager found a way to personally make the delivery that morning (only 1/3 mile away). So yummy and served with an above and beyond smile!

I was visiting with my girlfriend from New Jersey and we found this place by our hotel. Absolutely incredible food, atmosphere, and staff. The service was quick and the portion size was more than appropriate for the price. The two workers, were very friendly and accommodating, one was named Neece, at the counter told me about how the doughnut flavors change every month I tried the French toast one and I also ordered the Burrito breakfasts bowl, she ordered a bagel lox and she loved it as well. I am a restaurant manager back home and I wish there was a shop like this over in New Jersey. Definitely give it a try while in the area!!!

Visiting for Warped Tour and this cafe was walking distance from our hotel. We visited our first morning and then ended up going every morning while we were here.
We tried the chai latte, fresh OJ, avocado toast, the breakfast burrito and 12 of their donuts. Every single thing was SO GOOD! And everyone was so nice!

This place feels way too overpriced to also be so understaffed. I paid around $15 for a 3-item breakfast, and it just didn’t feel worth it. The food was overly oily—even the eggs—and lacked presentation.

It was a busy Friday morning with maybe 3 staff total (1 cashier and a couple in the back). For the prices they charge, the service and quality should be better. It’s not fair to the customers or the employees.

I wouldn’t recommend the items I got, but hopefully things improve if I ever decide to come back.

Stopped by on lunch and so happy I did. I had the Cobb salad, and it was amazing. I ordered off the kiosk located as soon as you walk in, and you can tell the ingredients are all fresh and not processed. It even comes with a side of bread in which I choose the sourdough. The salad was overall from light but extremely filling. Definitely worth $20 as you get what you pay for. I will definitely be back. They also serve liquor and have plenty of donuts. There’s also plenty of free Wifi and outlets to do some studying or surfing the Internet.
