Gonzo’s Mexican Grill is one of the finest garden city restaurants in the area! When you go into Gonzo’s, you will see photos of the owner, Joseph Gonzalez posing with such super celebrities as Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams, but, when you get to the one of him and Albert Einstein, it occurs to you that there is something chronologically wrong. If you know Joe, you would realize that this is just one manifestation of his quirkiness. Gonzo’s customers also enjoy the jovial atmosphere that is a result of Joe’s outgoing personality. Come try anything from tacos, fajitas, and burritos to quesadillas, wings, and ensalades! We also have cervezas, sangria, margaritas, and don’t forget to try our queso!

I discovered Gonzo’s Mexican Grill in Garden City, NY through Facebook, and out of all the restaurants I came across, this one immediately stood out — and it did not disappoint!
From the moment I walked in, the owner personally greeted me with a warm welcome and engaging conversation, setting the tone for an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food? Absolutely scrumptious.
The wings were meaty, full of flavor, and so good they didn’t even need sauce. The burrito, made with their special wing sauce, was hearty, flavorful, and downright addictive. Even the drink was perfectly cold and refreshing — just the right amount.
This place gets a 10 out of 10 from me. I’ll definitely be back and plan to bring family and friends next time. Totally worth the visit!
Ordered a couple different quesadillas and I’m pretty positive there was no cheese in them. Mine had weird cubed steak, some strange sauce, and a random large slice of avocado. The chicken in the chicken taco was like boiled maybe? Definitely not grilled and no flavor at all. My wife did enjoy her burrito so maybe that went well. The rice that came with the quesadilla was strange and dry and nothing authentic.
This is the worst food I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant. I’ve had better food at airports. I’ve gotten better tacos upstate at an American food restaurant. Just really strange. The restaurant is also cash only so that sort of adds to the mystery of this place. It’s just too bad because the place was clean and the employees very friendly.
Shrimp nachos was good it I would suggest a little more cheese. I didn’t read ingredients and it had black olives that I don’t like that much, but that’s on me.
Beans could be better “a little bland”
Reading the most recent reviews I’m VERY SHOCKED. I guess everyone has to try on their own
