The fish tacos were amazing! Great flavor. The enchiladas were a little disappointing.
Don’t expect to get your food very fast. It’s understandable since they just have one cook, and it was busy. But it did take a while.
Salsa had a kick but was super yummy. No wait for us. We would stop again.
I’ve been here many times now. The menu is a huge and makes me want to come back for more, but the price hike (about 20-30% more) that happened about a year ago makes it so I can’t come as much as I want.
They serve mostly Mexican food here but there is an American menu on the back.
They have gotten more popular this past year, which is good, but at times you feel a vibe of stress because it is hard for the workers to keep up. I recommend you go at an early or odd time.
The workers are friendly, but they won’t bend over backwards for you. If you have a problem with the food, you kind of just have to deal with it. The owner works hard to keep the place updated. The bathroom is clean.
Come on in and find your favorites:
Gonzales plate: Good but I will not order again.
Nachos: delicious.
Burrito Crema: good.
Verde Burrito: good.
Steak Picada: excellent, as long as they don’t overdo the steak and then it’s too dry.
Mocajete: very good and sharable. Burrito Rellenos: good
Rellenos: okay to excellent, depending on the cook.
Fish Tacos: superb
Fajitas: great, depending on the cook.
Pork Carnitas: good.
Chimichanga: huge hit with kids. Enchiladas: good.
Hamburger: good too, but not gourmet by any means.
Salsa, chips, beans: excellent
Fried ice cream: yummy and fun (we prefer caramel on top).
Flan: Okay, but not as good as the fried ice cream.
Pickled Mexican vegetables: I love that they garnish some dishes with these spicy crunchy pickles!
Food = 5 = Soooo delicious! Cooked to perfection and the meats were tender. Great & unique flavors!
We were there on a Saturday summer night an hour before closing and it was busy! So of course we didn’t expect or receive fast service.
Buyer beware: the menu had no prices on it and we didn’t ask because we’d been here before and knew that they were reasonable, especially for the portion size. *However, our bill was MUCH HIGHER than we expected! This is the main reason for not giving a higher rating.
Saving grace: the portions are HUGE!!! Ask for a to-go box or share a plate — or both! We 3 adult women shared 2 orders and had enough for a all 3 to enjoy a large lunch the next day 🙂
