We’ve been to Gonzalez BBQ twice and have been impressed both times! Reminds us of BBQ from Texas! The brisket is always our favorite and is so tender and flavorful. We also like the pulled pork, smoked turkey and sausage. This time we got the jalapeño poppers and they were so so good. Our favorite side is the green beans, they have such good flavor. This is the kind of BBQ you don’t need any sauce with. Even though they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays, it is worth the stop! Go early before they run out for the day.

I have been here a couple times now and wow-I need to go again. Most recently-I got the jalapeño cheddar sausage on the baked potato and the jalapeño poppers and would highly recommend both. I had a serious BBQ craving and did not want to settle for a chain restaurant and was so glad they were open. The bbq sauce is so good and the owners are so kind!

It is hard to find a good smoked brisket place in town that is worth the money to return. This was our first time trying Gonzales BBQ and unfortunately for the price at least we can say we’ve tried but we won’t be returning. The brisket was over smoked therefore, by the time we got home from picking it up, it was very dry, the pulled pork was very salty on its own, the pickles and onions that they put in the tray with the meat, they also put the bread on top of it, so therefore, all the bread was soaked and tasted like straight up pickle, but I will say the pulled pork on the baked potato was probably the only thing really worth it. The Alamo mac & cheese didn’t really have the texture or flavor of mac & cheese at all, it was almost like eating a mushy jalapeño, and the baked beans tasted more like a chili than anything been at all . For $90 it turned out to be a very gourmet dining experience for our 4 animals. Plus the guy Andrew that was working was not the friendliest person. I tried joking with him bc it was the end of the night and he wasn’t having any part of any joke. Very serious guy.

Restaurant was clean and staff was very friendly. I got brisket, turkey, and a sausage. They all tasted great. The brisket had a good bark and had a lovely smoke ring. My only critique is I wish that the brisket was more tender though, it didn’t pass the pull test or the bend test. I appreciateed the thick slices of brisket. I got my food to go and it was still hot by the time I got home. I thought the pickles and onions on the side were a nice touch. I also liked that you could buy Big Red soda here as well. I am excited to come back to try the pulled pork and ribs.
I feel like the food here is priced appropriately.
Overall I’d say this is a good eaterie and I hope they can expand their hours and stay in buisness for many years to come. Thank you for bringing a taste of Texas BBQ to Cache Valley.

My wife and I had the brisket and ribs. We chose the 3 meat option plate and ordered 2 meat options for brisket and one for rib (you get one rib). We got the potato salad, beans, green beans and coleslaw for sides. The food was great and we will most likely return. For sides, it’s my option that they weren’t anything special. I liked the coleslaw and green beans, which were average. I will probably avoid the potato salad and beans when I go back. Clean tables and facilities. Nice staff.

Building was small, so it can be be a little crowded inside. Overall the atmosphere is pretty good, and the staff was friendly. They did make a small error on both of our orders, but nothing detrimental. Tastewise the food was good, but the brisket was the best I have ever had!
The worst part was the price. ~$14 for my 2 meat plate. I got the brisket and ribs, but it only came with 1 rib unfortunately. Picture attached.

I had probably one of the most impressive business lunches today. We selected González BBQ. We are already planning to return.
González BBQ offers some of the finest BBQ meats we have tried and the signature sides are worthy of writing home to Mom about.
I sincerely recommend stopping by GBB and seeing for yourselves the quality of food and service offered.

The food was amazing, everything we bought we were swooning over, the Mac and cheese has just the right flavor and spice, the brisket was perfectly seasoned and cooked to the point it was falling apart perfectly moist and wonderful quality, the sausage was absolutely delicious, the coleslaw has a wonderful bacon not too overpowering just right, the best part was the warm cobbler with ice cream, true Dutch oven style. Not to mention the customer service was phenomenal. Hunter was professional, kind, & went above and beyond for our order, I wish I could give more than 5 starts. 10/10 recommend for the food and service! Cannot wait to go back!
