The chips and salsa were great but the steak in my steak tacos was overcooked and dry and didn’t have a lot of flavor to them.
I’d recommend this restaurant but probably not get the steak tacos again. I also enjoyed watching the robot Lupe move around the restaurant.
Oh..oh…and when you have leftovers honey, they’ll take and box them for you like them 5-star fancy restaurants. I will definitely be going back!!
The salsa was okay and could use a bit more flavor, but the queso more than made up for it. It was thick and creamy (not runny like some places) with a nice little kick — very good.
The sangrias were delicious. I did try the spicy pepino, but it tasted more like a lemonade and didn’t have any real spice or kick.
Dessert was excellent — we had the flan and churros, and the caramel sauce was especially delicious.
Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back.
However, I was really let down by the steak fajitas.
The meat had the consistency of stewed pot roast, and lacked any flavor. The vegetables lacked any seasoning. The portion size was what I would expect a lunch portion to be. For $18 I expected more than three tortillas worth of food.
They are obviously very popular and surely have other dishes that don’t disappoint. But, if I go back I’m going to order something different than the steak.
The food was excellent though. We ordered the queso which had a nice flavor. It was thick and a good portion size for the price. The chips were thin and crispy. 3 out of the 4 of us got the pastor tacos, and they were delicious. Lots of meat in each taco and wonderful flavor. The strawberry margarita is also worth getting.
Service- host was nice, but we only got 1 menu for the 3 adults in our party. Our waitress was slow and forgot my mother in law’s request. It took about 20 minutes after we finished our entrees to get checked on, at which time I asked for the bill, boxes, and my sons pre-ordered dessert. We did finally get my MIL’s extra sauce with the to go boxes. I also left a full 20% tip, because I believe in higher wages regardless.
Food- All the food we received was 5/5, 100% on point. Mexican Flag dish was absolutely delicious. My son loved his quesadillas and my wife couldn’t stop talking about her dish
Decor/Design/Ambiance – the coolest, freshest take on a latin/Mexican restaurant I’ve ever seen. The artwork is incredible. The lighting, perfect. The seating was comfortable and stylish. My only suggestion is to turn down the music a bit so I can hear the staff and my party.
