Gong Cha in Georgetown was overall a pretty standard bubble tea experience—nothing particularly special, but it met expectations. Ordering was convenient with two kiosks available, and the drinks tasted just as expected. The interior didn’t feel especially clean, which was a bit of a downside.
However, the egg waffle was absolutely perfect—crispy and delicious! I’d definitely come back just for the waffle.

The drink menu is varied and flavorful overall. However, the tapioca pearls in the shop’s popular brown sugar fresh milk were hard and no longer fresh when I visited. I came close to closing time, which may have affected the quality.

Nice little egg waffle and boba tea place underground in Georgetown. Waffle and ice cream tasted great. Boba tea was great. I’m not a fan of the order digitally and no customer service, but that seems to be the thing these days, especially with young people. For some reason, they just love avoiding actually speaking to a customer lol. Bathroom requires a code on the receipt, except it didn’t actually work, so we had to ask the employee who just said, “yaaaa… try this.” No “sorry about that” or “let me get that for you”, just “yaaaa…” whatever lol.

Their bubble tea is always freshly made, and the boba is perfectly chewy. I love customizing my drinks, from the sweetness level to the toppings—especially their signature pearls and the smooth milk foam. Every sip is refreshing and delicious!

Food is good and price is OKAY. Egg waffles with ice cream cost around 11~ after tax but it’s so good…especially the matcha one. There’s a large selection of boba and they’re good as well. The place is small but trendy 🙂

We went to gong cha after a light lunch. Our first impression was the beautiful ambience and the walls offered photo ops. I was lost for choices as there was a huge menu with so many options for teas. As a tea lover, I felt like I was in paradise. I went for the Dolce Vita milk tea with golden bubbles and my husband chose Oolong milk tea with boba. My drink was definitely more delish. But my husband said that his drink was a little watery than being more milky. Hence the reduction in one star. But otherwise there were cute little tables and mostly college kids were hanging around the area. The vibe was good.

Great place! The interior is a very hip and fresh style and there’s a lot to the menu! They have options for tea, milk tea, and smoothies. For most drinks you can also pick your ice and sweetness level, so you can ask for 50% sweet and 30% ice, for example. If you like to customize, this is for you. If you aren’t sure what to get, my favorite is the Strawberry Black Milk Tea with regular pearls
