Dining at Goma for the first time was a memorable introduction to their omakase experience. I reserved the omakase (for an anniversary), we were served by head sushi chef Kuncheol Lee, whose warmth and approachability immediately set the tone for the evening. He was genuinely conversable and friendly, taking the time to explain each course while making the experience feel personal rather than formal.

Every course was beautifully executed and consistently delicious. It was exciting to watch Chef Lee’s skill and precision come through in the food—each piece felt intentional, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. He is respectful and attentive in asking about and adjusting to any dietary restrictions!

While the omakase pricing is on the expensive side—especially compared to some omakase experiences I’ve had in California and New York—the quality of the food, service, and overall experience still made it a good value. I left satisfied and impressed, and I would absolutely come back again.

Man I don’t know what a lot of these reviews are talking about. This was the best sushi experience I’ve ever had in Cleveland, by a mile. Spoiler – it’s not cheap. And why would it be? Do we live on the ocean? Some people…

Chef Lee was awesome – chatting with us casually and curating an incredible nigiri selection . Wait staff was great. Super fresh offerings, sushi rice was seasoned perfectly, maybe ONE complaint was the miso soup was a bit low on flavor, but truly 5/5. Hope this stays around a long time. I’ll be back, soon.

For future reference, please remember to include wasabi and ginger in the takeaway container. We had a really excellent experience otherwise.

I felt like the wasabi was actually real, grated from the wasabi root vs standard horseradish powder dyed green. I was disappointed to not find what was left on my plate included in the leftovers I took home.

8/10 experience in the restaurant. 7/10 after coming home.

First time trying it on Friday night. I’ve heard that it’s not as good as Ginko, but after trying both I can say it’s just as good. There are specific items on both menus I really love.

A great place. The sushi was point on. It was perhaps the next level up on sushi that i was not quite ready for. That being said we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

First visit: Had a reservation and were seated immediately on a busy Saturday night. Service was prompt and efficient. Ordered sushi, noodles and a wok vegetable rice dish. The noodles and rice dishes came out first. Our server apologized for the sushi being late due to it being a busy night however it came out about 5 minutes later. The noodles were very good – pork broth was light and favorable with a nice mix of veggies and mushrooms. The large piece of pork belly was delicious if maybe a bit difficult to gracefully eat. The rice dish was also good with a pleasant ginger flavor but maybe just a bit salty. Both dishes were generously portioned. The tempura shrimp roll was nicely presented and was excellent. All in all a very nice dining experience and we would definitely return.

Just a knock-out in terms of fish quality, presentation of plates, variety of flavors and textures…. we can’t recommend the Chef Experience enough! Chef Lee brought the heat, sweet, and beyond!

The service was excellent, though it did feel like we were being upsold at every interaction. The food was good but for the price we did anticipate either a bolder flavor in the ramen or a larger portion on the sushi. We left wanting a bit more. The place was clean and the appetizers were fabulous.

We came here after our wedding ceremony, based on our friends’ recommendation.
The waitress was absolutely amazing — hands down the best part of the whole place! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Unfortunately, the food was pretty bad, and a few of the dishes we ordered never even showed up.
Really disappointing, especially on such a special day…
