Great exquisite experience. This is a great place to dine. Let talk about food:
Rack of Lamb – My favourite. Brilliant cooked, amazing marination – what a taste. It was cooked with care. The meat at medium was done just right. No complains – Fully recommended.
Streaks – wow great portions, well cooked as required and what a taste. Was so tender and just right right. T-Bone steak was big 🙂
Sea Food – what a platter. Everything was nicely presented and the taste was great
Desert – The inhouse Cheesecake with Strawberry sauce was just best I had in Canada. Nice texture, soft and delicious.
Salad – Bar was good. Could be a little better
Now comes the Ambiance: very old style but very exclusive. Loved it.
The garlic bread was amaing as well
Had great parking area but they day I went, they had a big party in the hall… parking was a nightmare. So, plan if you get unluck day.
Service was top notch.
One complain. Saw couple of fruit flies near salad bar and on the table (wanted to take ½ star away but there is no option) – Was not expecting that but the apart from that, everything was best.

I went out for dinner with my parents on Monday night and some family friends. I thought it was decorated beautifully for Christmas, we love the salad bar option. I also had the soup which was chicken vegetable and it was delicious. Also the garlic bread to the table is so soft with just the right amount of garlic spread. My chicken parmesan was phenomenal it was a great size serving cooked to perfection with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. My parents very much enjoyed their meals as well.

The spot is located near the Grant River, and some of the tables offer a lovely view of the water. It’s a peaceful location that sets the scene nicely for a relaxed meal.
Service is not just quick, but also extraordinary — attentive without being overbearing.
One of the standout features of this place is that it’s one of the few remaining restaurants that still offers a complimentary warm baguette with butter — a nice touch that instantly makes you feel welcome.
Escargots
The escargots were tender and sautéed in garlic butter, then topped with a rich three-cheese mix. However, the garlic, cheese, and green onion somewhat overshadowed the escargots themselves, and the dish turned out a bit saltier than expected. Still, it was a really good starter.
This restaurant offers a very appealing deal that includes the soup of the day, an unlimited salad bar, and a steak. Great value for anyone looking to make the most of their meal.
New York Striploin
We ordered it medium-rare, but it came out closer to medium. While it wasn’t exactly what we had in mind, it was still delicious – tender and juicy, with plenty of flavor.
Surf & Turf
The filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium-rare, it was very tender and full of flavor – exactly what you expect from a great steak!
The lobster tail made the dish extraordinary – I cannot recall such a perfect “surf & turf” in recent years. I really enjoyed it (and my mouth still waters when I recall the experience!).
Crème Brûlée
The crème brûlée was above average, with a nice balance of creamy richness and a crisp, caramelized top. The Americano that followed was also good — smooth and well-balanced.
Conclusion: I highly recommend this place for its excellent value (as the prices are very attractive), especially for those visiting the Stratford Festival from Toronto.

Fantastic gem. I was surprised by the premium feel of the dining experience. If you’re not used to fine dining, the menu prices might seem steep at first, but there’s a remarkable amount of complimentary food accompaniments (soup, enormous salad bar, bread) that make the price very fair.
Many others mention that the interior feels a bit dated and should be changed, but I disagree. As a younger guy, it gives a very classy old-money vibe I haven’t experienced before, almost like an eatery for the traditional upper class of society. You don’t see that very often.
Very high-quality food, great hospitality, nice ambience, will come again. I wish there were more places like this instead of the new filth we have now.

You will be hard pressed to find a better prime rib than this. Golf’s used to be a family favourite of ours 30 years back but having moved away decades ago I haven’t had much opportunity until now. I think they’ve even IMPROVED since then. Both of us chose the prime rib. The beef was done exactly as requested and so tender and juicy that my knife went through it like butter. Our dinners included salad bar, soup, steamed vegetables and choice of potato or rice pilaf. Salad items were crispy and fresh. The soup for us was a tomato bisque, smooth and creamy without feeling heavy. Everything was on point, from the salad bar (not just a little nostalgia there) to the coffee I enjoyed as a sort of aperitif (some of you may know how discriminating I am when it comes to coffee) . Our server and other wait staff were warm and gracious. Even the other patrons seemed friendly and courteous, almost as if everyone was on their best behaviour in order to pay homage to memories of sitting down with family and friends in times past. Granted, the decor’s a little dated; don’t expect the eclectic ambience of other similarly-priced establishments designed by by OCA or Sheridan graduates with background jazz or world music competing with your every word. Here the dining rooms are broken up by tasteful if dated frosted glass barriers allowing patrons to have quiet conversations, which is so much more relaxing than reading the lips of your dinner companion. What the management has saved by refusing to update the decor has been well compensated by the superior quality of their offerings and I would rather enjoy a 5-star meal at a 4-star price (maybe even less!) any day.

What a great place to come for lunch or dinner! Golf’s is set up to welcome your group in their large restaurant. Our group of 6 friends went so smoothly. Comfortable seating areas and a great view. The menu is extensive and the generous portions of food . From prime rib to chicken and salmon. The salad bar was amazing with a great variety of choices and delicious soups. Our waitress was efficient, complimentary and cheerfully. What a great place. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks again

We recently had a Christmas work dinner celebration here and it was better than I could imagine. We had our own space which was amazing because we were loud and a little obnoxious with our singing (sorry Golfs staff). The food was delicious and there was a great selection for a selected menu. Booking was easy peezy and the staff were AMAZING!! They were professional and kind, and went above and beyond to make sure our night went well.
Sidenote* I was part of a wedding in the spring and they were amazing during this as well.
I have had nothing but excellent experiences at Golfs steakhouse and we will definitely be returning for our events big and small in the future.

Highly recommend brunch at Golf’s Steak House. The food was right on and the service was amazing. Both our servers took excellent care of us. We enjoyed a beautiful table over looking the river and was perfect on this first snowfall day of the season. Thank you so much for making us love your establishment for the great food and service you provided.
You really make things right and really appreciate what you did to make it special.
