Service was great! We had Autumn and Joanna as our servers. Our water was never below half, our drinks were never empty for more than 5 minutes. They brought each course out with perfect timing, never having too many dishes on the table or everything coming out at once.
Overall we were very pleased with trying Golf’s as we normally go elsewhere for celebrations. The atmosphere was nice and calm, quiet even tho they were busy and unlike our normal special occasion restaurant we could actually hear each other talk while sitting 6 feet across from each other! (Normally we sit beside each other in a booth and can barely hear)
One of Regina’s Best fine dining restaurants for all occasions.
Again thank you!! We would come back, such a nice dinner and time we both had.
My favorite menu items would be a house made Caesar salad with a French onion soup paired with the Steak Diane and a baked potato or the Chicken Athenian. You won’t leave Golf’s hungry that is for sure!
Thank you again Maria and staff for another spectacular dinner, I will be back soon. Go for the experience, stay for the value and quality, you won’t regret it!
our needs. The atmosphere was perfect for dining with my best friend. The food exceeded my expectations. I cannot give all 5s because I go to starred Michelin restaurants. The experience and the food were out of this world. Thank you Maria, for being a great hostess and a wonderful human being. One regret though: why did’t I dine there earlier. I will come back!
The caesar salad is always fantastic. The steak is literally perfect every time (I usually opt for the peppercorn sauce strip) and my wife gets the seafood alfredo, which truly slaps.
Most importantly to us, the service is out of this world. It’s what you’d expect from such an establishment, but rarely actually experience. Often times we will request to sit by the fire, where we were seated during our first visit. They always do their best to accommodate us on this, and it really just goes a long way.
Additionally, it seems like at least one of the Owner’s is always there, and they are both very professional, but also very sweet.
Truth be told, their whole team is great. But, we are always extra pleased when Curtis is our server – He’s a total rock star.
ESCARGOTS BOURGUIGNONNE ($17): The snails are roasted with their shells, featuring a strong garlic and buttery flavor. Dipping the garlic bread into the escargot sauce makes it very rich and appetizing.
Prime Rib – A Golf’s Tradition (10oz $47): Even at just 10 ounces, this steak is particularly large. We ordered it medium, and it was still very tender. Paired with their sauce and mustard, it was delicious and not greasy at all. The sauce and mustard were very appetizing, and the roasted vegetables served with it were also great.
Back Ribs ($40): This is a whole rack of pork ribs. The barbecue sauce is a perfect blend of sweet, salty, and savory, and the ribs are well-seasoned. The pork ribs are very tender and fall off the bone easily.
It’s worth mentioning that the main dishes come with salad and soup, so the portions are especially large. Overall, I think the atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderful, the food is great, and the accompanying salad and soup taste good too.
At that point, my husband asked what the issue was and why our reserved table wasn’t ready. The host’s response? “Some people came before you, so that’s why you have to wait.” That completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation. He pointed this out, and instead of apologizing, she argued with us before finally seating us at some random table.
From there, things only went downhill. Our server never checked on us once — not to ask how the food was, not to see if we needed anything. Meanwhile, he was very attentive to the table beside us but acted as if we didn’t exist. He dropped the food off and vanished for the rest of the night.
The food was fine at best, but certainly not worth the $175 bill. For that price, you’d expect at least basic courtesy and service — not to be ignored and treated like an inconvenience.
Judging by how the owner responds to other negative reviews (always blaming the customer and never taking accountability), it’s clear this attitude starts at the top. Thank you for making it easy to decide which businesses to support and which to skip. There are plenty of restaurants in this city that actually value their customers and provide great service — this is definitely not one of them.
We won’t be returning, and we definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone.
