Stopped in to this little restaurant to get a quick bite. The food and service were good! The service They were so accommodating to my mom. So, for what we had- I had bacon wrapped shrimps, my mom had chicken milanesa, daughter had flautas and my husband had carne guisada. Don’t just drive through to and from Houston and RGV without stopping in the smaller towns. Support small town businesses! #supportlocal

Alfredo was lacking flavor(tasted like sauce was from a jar). Shrimp was large but breading was oily, fish was also to oily. Service was really lacking, we had to literally ask for everything including forks. Really wanted to like this place but we won’t be back until I see more positive reviews.

Wasn’t expecting such a beautiful atmosphere! The color scheme, the layout, the theme overall, and the food was just perfectly made. Not sure who owns the place;but KUDOS to the owner for creating such an awesome spot for Raymondville!

The food was really good when we finally got it. Close to 45 minutes after we ordered. We had ordered 2 principios of fish soup but we got vegetable soup and this took awhile to get to our table. We told the waitress but she looked confused and just smiled. We had to speak firmly that we didn’t want it so she could take it back. We had waited so long for our food, I had gotten up to tell the waitress we were leaving and to cancel our order. Again she smiled. Luckily our food had just arrived along with our fish soup. The fried tilapia chicharones were good and my husband’s tacos gorbernador were good too. Worth waiting close to an hour for? Nope. Even though we were not charged for the soups, we will not go back. I don’t think we should have been charged for anything. Also the place is small. There was a group right next to us and they were extremely loud making our meal even less enjoyable.

I ordered shrimp tacos per the menu. Imagine my surprise when barbacoa tacos came out. I pointed out that I didn’t get what I had ordered only for the staff to tell me that “gobernado” was barbacoa despite the menu stating it was Shrimp. The cook even told me I was wrong. I don’t know how you can be wrong when you literally point out that the menu says SHRIMP. Out of frustration i just asked for fish tacos.
This on top of the waitress chewing ice in my ear and bring me a cam of Sprite that had dirt on top left a bad taste in my mouth. The waitstaff though friendly clearly need more training.
The saving grace is that the food was delicious…
Just for grins, I googled “tacos gobernado” and guess what? It’s SHRIMP TACOS. You would think that people who speak fluent Spanish would know the difference between Shrimp and barbacoa.

Food was pretty good. I had there 1/2 burger with simple fry’s since they did not have the sweet potato fries that are advertised on the menu. Hubby had the beer enchilada plate. He ate it all and never realized that it came with a side salad.
Waitress was attentive.

The portions served are not enough for the prices listed on the menu. Fish and shrimp lacked flavor and Shrimp Alfredo ordered, i must say the noodles were under cooked, to include the hush puppies were not thoroughly cooked. Its been from my past experience that your restaurant is practicing ration control on portions previously served which are now lacking. On your menu you need to stipulate what kind of fried fish is being served to the customer. It was also my observation that your cook needs to thoroughly clean his grill to the bare stainless steel its suppose to be. Lastly, it is from my personal perspective that for your restaurant to be successful you need to match the portions to the prices you charge for each plate so I am asking you to please increase the portions otherwise you will be facing your restaurant losing business which it already is because it takes so long for you to put the food to your customers…

Honestly way too expensive and not worth the hype. I got the fish plate and it was good portions for the price, but my husband got the burger… “brioche” bun was a bimbo bun and the meat patty was the ones from Sam’s… I know because we buy those for work all the time. You get to know the flavor after a while. It was not worth 50 dollars. Go down in prices and do better.
