Simple country style Meets with refinement. Goldies is country elegance. The menu is not consistent, but always top-notch. It’s best to check it out of Facebook before going to verify hours and the daily specials. I promise 2 things, 1 you won’t leave hungry. 2 you will not be disappointed. P.S. save room for desert!

Had the Chicken Piccata and the KC Strip. Both were very good and the steak was cooked appropriately. Baked fudge for dessert! Will definitely be back!

This was Sunday, the place was packed, so our first visit might not have been the pleasant experience we had anticipated from the great things people had told us.
Sunday was chicken day. That’s all they serve is a family stile chicken dinner (with rolls, mashed potatoes, a vegetable and a salad. ($15 bucks for one piece of grease fried, dry chicken. It was a bit over done, but that was understandable because the place was PACKED!
Rolls were a bit dry too, but the potatoes were great, and so we’re the salads. In fact the dressing on my cole slaw and Kathy’s green salad was so good we bought a couple of bottles to take home.
With so many people in a smallish dining room (10 or 11 tables I think) service was not great. It was nearly an hour before we got our drinks and salads, and our server didn’t get the order right on the salads and veggies. I split a recommended slice of “gooey cake” with Kathy. She didn’t care for it (too sweet for her taste) and I thought it was really dry to be called “gooey”, but it was good.
Id like to go back on a weekday to see what the normal menu is like but I don’t know if Kathy will agree to go back. Our total was over $50 not counting the bottled salad dressing we got extra. If I do go back, I hope I’m able to update this review with some more favorable comments.

Great food and people. Every time we dine here the owner personally thanks us for coming in and checks on us multiple times even when it’s crazy busy. We love coming here and are grateful to have such a good restaurant in a rural area… and the bread pudding is literally one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Homestyle serving, just pick the meat. Owners on site, rustic charm, casual atmosphere, homemade quality cooking, reasonable prices for full portions. Saturday and Sunday only, check times before going. Family friendly. Well worth the trip!

It was A nice place to eat for a Sunday drive. The chicken breast was a little dry but the wing was not.
Service was good and waitress was nice.
Meal was served home style… all the chicken and mashed potatoes in bowls, for the table to serve from. Salad was fresh and house dressing was good (a sweet dressing).
Price for the meal depended on the # of pieces of chicken & was written on the chalkboard, along with your other included meal options.
Dessert is not included, although they did not have prices for them on their chalkboard (which was a little misleading – just glad we asked if Dessert was included).

ABSOLUTELY the BEST fried chicken I have ever had! She makes it so very close to my mother’s fried chicken, it’s unbelievable! Great service too! The rest of the meal was delicious too! My Aunt just LOVES the Brussels sprouts served there and she was thrilled to be able to get them today! Scrumptious meal…well worth the wait!

Good food. The wait for the food was excessive, but understandable, since we did have a larger group of people to accommodate and fried chicken takes some time to cook. However, the service in general was awful. No one checked on us while we were waiting, and glasses sat empty on our table during most of the visit. Also, we did not get all of the rolls that were supposed to come with our meal. They said they were “running low” and needed to be able to “spread them out”. We had to split rolls between the people at our table, and then watch as they gave everyone at the tables that came in after us all of their rolls instead.
